Hi everyone,

I have been vaping since March this year. I am currently using Ego-V V3 Mega (2) and a Vision Spinner II for my mods. I am starting to notice significant drop off on my charge lenght in the older (approx 4 months old) V3 Mega. It supposedly has a 1300Mah battery inside. It used to last almost 2 full days, but now it only lasts about 9-10 hours.

I think it's time for a new mod. I was thinking the MVP 20W. Do you guys feel this will be an upgrade? Any longevity issues? How long should I expect the perfomance to be acceptable? Any advice on the best place to purchase?

BTW, I am happy with VV/VW, so no mechanical mods for me.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Honestly, I would have to say to look at getting something with a DNA 40 in it..... can even buy the board and build one yourself if you can solder fairly well.
I'm not one for Mech's either.... though I do own a few. My personal preference if VV/VW, and I really wish I would have just upgraded to the DNA 30 early on.
I (looking back on it), knew I was going to eventually get one, but kept excusing the reasons not to just get it.... Coulda/woulda been cheaper for me in the long run.
Now, why I say the DNA 40.... temp limiting feature, plain and simple. NO, more dry hit, burnt cotton, coils gunking within a week... just vape.
Now, from a new vapers stand point I look at it like this. If your sure this is for you, and you want to eventually get into reduildables.... you got all the room to grow you'll need... to me, that translates to savings as you'll bypass the constant "upgrading" circle many of us find ourselves in.
If you do decide to build one yourself... feel free to e-mail me, help where I can :)

Some things to think about. Do you want a box or tube mod? Do you want internal batteries or user replacable? How big or small do you want your new mod to be? How much power do you want it to have? Will you be venturing into the world of rebuildables at some point? And the biggest to help us to help you, what's your budget?

I'm with David1975 on this. I started with the little Halo's then bought the Innokin svd and mvp and a few others then quite a few different mech mods. Now I have the Pioneer4you IPV3 regulated box mod and that will do everything all those others do and more. At $120. it seems like a lot but it's much cheaper than all the money I spent on all the others put together. It has as little or as much power that you will ever need. I kind of progressed with the vaping world and bought things as they came out so I didn't have much of a choice. My friends that are new to vaping I just tell them to get a Sigelei 100 or 150 or a IPV3 and they will be set for whatever they want to get into.

Yes the MVP 3.0 20w would be an upgrade and it is a great value that can be found on sale right now for less than 30 $, and if it is anything like the 2.0 it will have a large following and be noted for its durability.

What is your intention with the mod? The same tanks you currently use with your current setup? If so it sounds like a fine choice. If you were looking to spend a little bit more for a larger range of versatility then there are no shortage of those options out there as well. No doubt 2015 will be an interesting year of vape gear.

For me the question on this would be budget related. The 20 watt MVP is using the same old interface, which while not hard to use, is surpassed by most other menu's out there. Besides, the 30 watt MVP is due out in the next couple of months. Personally I love my DNA40 (first run of the VS rDNA40), I use it all day everyday, but I would not recommend anyone pick one up at this point until the chip has truly proven stable, unless you have the money to afford the possible frustration. I mean the big screen version of the DNA 40 is either rev 4 or 5 of the chip. That being said, at this point I still like the Evolv chips over the YiHi, but admit that may just be due to more access to wiring schematics and build tutorials.

Frak, didn't even know the mvp 3 was released already. Links?? Did a quick search found 2's but narry a 3.

There is just so much to choose from, at the minimum, would get something 30-50 watt capable, and check out the 100-150 watt boxes. Cloupor T6 & T8, Sigelei 100 & 150 watt boxes, all are vape worthy, and can be found for about one bill. Less than 2 cartons of smokes. :D Just saying.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

I personally started with all the little egos before going to a mech mod which i just had a kamry k100. Just recently picked up a Cloupor DNA30 Box mod a couple of days ago and so far its amazing. My only complaint about it is how hard it is to switch out the batteries as far having to unscrew the cover then somehow manage to get the battery out of its tight spot, i personally put a little ribbon under it so i can just pull it out with ease, as well as i can vape with my Brass Monkee RDA on it because in 4-5 hits it reads too hot so ive been using my Lemo RTA on it and its been a dream.

The MVP especially 2.0 is not that good than others. If you want something regulated and box mod I would personally recommend you to check out the followings instead of the MVP 2.0.

IPV Mini
Sigelei Mini
YiHi SX Mini

In my opinion with removable batteries would be better.

:)

Sorry for the late response:
Mvp20w is a decent contender there. With removable batteries you generally have to buy a few and a charger which is more cost... Just something to consider, not good or bad :)
