Good morning,

I have been vaping on an Inferno for the past month. It has helped me quit smoking and I really enjoy the different flavors. My original set-up came with a tank, I originally vaped menthol to curb the urge of an analog and the tank did not bother me. I picked up a few atomizers two weeks ago and moved on to different flavors, mainly fruit. I filled up my tank with a different fruit flavor and also vape with an atomizer on my other battery. The difference seems to be night and day, the atomizer is awesome for flavor. The tank, not so much. I’m not very familiar with the thread sizes of all the different equipment. I think the inferno is a 510? I have no problem with the atomizer but of course it’s not always convenient to drop what you are doing to put a few drops in. I like the pick and go convenience of a tank but if I’m not getting what I want out of it its seems worthless. I see a lot of posts about cleartomizers? I’m still pretty new to this and trying to learn as much as I can but sometimes it’s all a little overwhelming. Like, I said, its all about the taste. I have no problem moving on from volcano products(at least the tank) to get what I am looking for, I just need some advice on what else is out there.

Thanks!

Not sure what tank you used on your Inferno, but if it was a carto tank some believe that the polyfill material in cartomizers impart their own taste along with the juice. If you wish to avoid a carto altogether, there are newer tank devices such as clearomizers, clearo tanks (like the vivi nova and smoktek titan/screw tanks, and ce3's.

Morning Mrs. Mustang. There are so many devices out there for you to try and experiment with - its pretty amazing how much stuff is out there - some good and some not so good.

I don't know anything about the Inferno. I primarily use a Provari with a Phiniac tank or a Vivi Nova tank. Phiniac tanks are a bit more expensive, but high quality made with pyrex glass. You use a punched cartomizer with Phiniac tanks. The Vivi Nova tanks are a lot less expensive than a Phiniac and the Vivi Novas use silica wicks which can be rebuilt and modified with cotton or stainless steel mesh.

I'm sure there will be many more responses from other forum members. So, take some time and do some research and I'm sure you will find something that works for you. Have a wonderful journey! :vapor:

IF I'm correct the Inferno is basically a rebranded Ego. SO, on that particular unit, maybe try a vivi nova mini tank...or any number of the mini tanks using a Cartomizer in the core. My current preferance is a low resistance carto on my ego batteries. and a standard resistance one on my variable voltage mods. dont forget to get yourself a carto punch and a drip tip if you do order a carto tank ;)

If it's an ego unit. it should take anything with either a 510 connection or an ego connection.

also note that a LR carto may drain your battery faster, so there is some trade off. and IMHO a dual coil carto doesn't work as well on an ego battery. though some people really like em.

Hope that input helps a bit...but nobody can decide what is best for you except you!

Happy hunting!

*edit* if your existing tank takes standard carto sizes try Boge LR carto...maybe?

Thank you so much, I will try the the Mini Nova. What is the difference in the Boge cartomizers? Is it just because they are LR?

This will give you an idea of the diff delivery systems
Different delivery systems:
atomizer/ atty- an element on to which 3-4 drops of juice is dripped

cartridge/ cart- a container with sponge (filled with juice) that is used with the atty- juice drips on to atty from cart and is vaporized

cartomizer/ carto- metal tube with stuffing and element.

carto+tank- a carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates carto by way of hole in carto.

Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a haed (wick and element). Contains NO stuffing. Rebuildables such as the Vivi Nova and Stardust can be bought. When old head (wick+ coil) burns out simply unscrew old head and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My clearo heads are lasting about 4 weeks but I wash and dry burn every 3 days.

LR stands for low resistance. SR stands for standard resistance. You can look at resistance as meaning how hot a coil will burn. A low resistance coil will burn hotter, providing warmer vapor and possibly a difference in juice flavor, at the expense of more battery drainage. Not sure if that technically is correct, but the end result is correct.

Boge is just a brand name, as is Kanger and Smoktek.

For a basic lesson in carto brand names and the sizes (lengths) available, click on the below link, and then follow the link in post #2.

I have tried a variety of different delivery systems, and I am now leaning towards the carto+tank. It very little hassle after the initial fill up and the taste is good. I think the polyfill can change the flavor in cartos, but with a tank it seems to not be noticeable.

The regular cartos need to be refilled too often and the flavor drops off pretty quickly.

I tried a bunch of different clearomizers and they get a burnt taste after a week. I thought it would be more hassle free but it turned out to be more expensive and unless the wick is interchangeable I went through them pretty fast.

Drip- pain in the ... refilling every few hits

I am loving both my vivi novas and the Kangers - I think the kangers are currently hitting better (flavor & vapor), but the vivi's hold more. Neither of them has had leaking problems, and they're both very easy to fill - I love.

My ONLY issue has been that I think I just got one bad kanger in the batch I was sent - it's had a very weird, almost perfumy flavor through two tanks of two different juices. But the rest have been awesome.
