Hi guys,

I need some advice here.

My Set up:

- Super T Manufacture ELA (First Gen)
- Derringer rda

Follow steam engines set up
- 28 awg A1 running at .8 ohm (4 wrap with 3/32 bit, single coil.)
- Battery AW 18650 2000 mAh
- I see heat flux running at 22W and come out with 488mW/mm
- I suppose to be able to draw 311 of 5 seconds puff or 26 minutes

However,
- The flavor is not really there
- After 3 set of 6 (5 seconds) puff, the battery seem to drop a lot and I don't have the warm vape any more.

Am I doing something wrong?

I really like to use a mech mod, please advice me to make this work. Will switching to 30 Awg make it better?

Thanks

My guess would be the battery.
Aw isn't the best for a mech and the 2000 had a horrible disharge curve unregulated

I prerty much run the exact same coil in almost every atty and go for several hours on a samsung 25r

If your going to stay at that resistance the panasonic 2900pf is an amazing battery you cant really go lower then .6 with it though

Hi guys,

1: Do you notice the big RED flame icon above the 488mW/mm ?
Try a 1.8 ohm maybe? 10 wraps.

2: How old is the battery? Old batteries drop fast; sometimes they drop fast, then slowly rise back up.

Here's the picture.

This set up work fine on my IPV mini, but I have a hard time for it to work with my ELA mech mod.

Wrong battery. The AW 2000 mAh is only a 10 amp battery. It's been discontinued.

You want either the AW 1600 (24 amp) or the new AW 2200 (20 amp)

I gotta agree with this. :thumb:

The original 2000mAh 10 amp AW 18650 IMR was a very good battery a couple of years ago, but there are better batteries for the more demanding applications of today's mods, ESPECIALLY if you are using SUBOHMS. You need a minimum 20 amps continuous discharge rate.

The updated 20 amp AW 18650 2200mAh IMR would do.

So would the Samsung 18650 2500mAh 20 amp IMR that Thrasher recommended.

Orbtronics has a few 18650 batteries with 20 or more amps.

The LG18650HE2 2500mAh 20 amp is also an option.

Sony VTC (a 30 amp battery) seems to be getting scarce to find, and according to some reports will no longer be manufactured.

Battery Basics for Mods (contains a list of high drain batteries with amp limits)

I recommend buying from RTD Vapor, Illumination Supply, Lighthound, or Orbtronics.

* Does your RDA have adjustable airflow? You may need to drill out larger holes for better flavor.
