I second the motion on JB Quick. I have used a number of 2part epoxies; Durabond, Elmers, & Crazy Glue and all fall short. Even had a problem with JB weld deteriorating after a time. Jb quick has more metal in it and seems to work the best especially on 801 batt. connectors where there isn't a lot to get a hold of. I now use the 510 and buy adapters to fit my different attys. More meat underneath for the glue to grip. Also found in Wally World Automotive section.

I have 3 box mods I made. The darn atty connectors come loose and fall in the box?

What kind of adhesive are you guys using? Where can I get it?? I used Super Glue...doesn't quite hold it.

Do not use hot glue if you ever dry-burn your atty. It'll melt the hot glue and you'll end up with the same scenario you originally described--atty connector in the box. I've done it twice with boxmods I've purchased.Oops.

So far I've built about a dozen boxes on either Permatex Ultra Bond (engineered for automotive applications) or Loctite Super Glue. So far so good but now I've run out of both. I have an order due any day now of about 4-5 box mods and just last night picked up some Gorilla Glue Super Glue "Impact-Tough Formula". Can't wait to see how it works.

I haven't had that issue with my first box mod...but I plan to purchase lots more of them. I am glad you gave the heads up that this may happen. I think what I will do for my next one to be safe is put some super hard epoxy around the inner surface of the hole and let it dry, to build it out some (make the hole smaller). Then I'll carefully open the hole back up to work the 510 connector in and lock that down with some more adhesive.

Oh btw, I did have to build up the positive side of the internal battery connector with a small dob of solder, because my protected 14500 battery positive end didn't quite reach. I am SO glad I read that tip before I made the box because when I first tried to fire the thing and got no power...at least I didn't try to trouble shoot the whole circuit. I just opened it up, looked at the positive end of the battery and realized it wasn't quite making it to the positive battery connector! I think Hoog suggested that in a thread somewhere...thank you for that!!
