And the controversy over electonic cigarettes won't end until the government can figure out a way to tax them to the same extent. They simply can't afford it.

Sure they can afford it.

HOW? (you ask) .....

Well, since the message that US citizens constantly get from the government is "you are a liability to human existence, you must be monitored, regulated, and told what to do, when to work, how to think".... then, we can deliver that same message right back to them. Give them a taste of their own medicine, so to speak.....

They CAN afford it by quitting their jobs as politicians and government officials, and getting a REAL job in the private sector. Just like us.

It's not a matter of what they can and can't AFFORD, it's a matter of what they can get their hands on and then claim entitlement to it. In my view, they do not, and never had, entitlement to those exhorbitant tobacco tax dollars in the first place.

So, they CAN afford it.

You left out "taxed into bankruptcy."

Perhaps. But you'll never get politicians or government officials to agree! (P.S. - I work for the government. Does that mean I don't have a real job?;))

And here's the kicker:

"VOTER SUPPORT
The groups also surveyed 847 registered voters and found 60 percent favor raising the tobacco tax to help state budgets while 38 percent were opposed."

Anyone want to take a guess as to how many smokers there were in the 507 registered voters expressing favor of such a tax hike?

OOH OOH...192 and two thirds of a person:rolleyes:

I'm sure that is correct...

1. TRUE, they'll never agree to it. I was just using the same logic on them that they apply to us.

2. I work for a private company that CONTRACTS with the gov't for social services (no, not Blackwater. I said social services not hookers and strippers). I don't work for gov't, but how our company makes its money certainly depends on gov't dollars. State, not federal.

So I don't mean to disparage your job or imply it's not a real job. That was sarcasm. However, I did specifically say "politicians" and "gov't officials", the type who make executive decisions that effect other people's lives negatively for their own personal aggrandizement. So if you don't fall into that category, you're okay by me. :D

Sarcasm understood. And I'm better than just OK (if you only knew!) ;)

What does the U.S. Training Center have to to do with electronic cigarettes? Do not tread on soil that you DO NOT understand.

:D:D:D Ahh more sarcasm!

Let's see how did we get this far from the topic of this thread? Um, I was just doing a side-bar conversation and happened to mention my job because...

Oh, never mind!!
