I have only been vaping for right under a week and am already wanting to upgrade. I started out with a 510 because I wanted good vapor production and from what I had read on this forum it sounded like it was the way to go. I love about the first 5-10 hits on my 510 as the vapor production is very nice, but it really starts to taper off after those first wonderful hits. In the future I plan on getting one of the bigger/really nice mods out there for home, but I can't really see myself using one of those comfortably in public. I have really been looking at the ego/tornado batteries for the size and since many people say these have really great battery life between charges. Will I have the same issue of only getting a few really nice draws off of them before they taper off and leave me feeling unsatisfied after a very short time? Is there another mod out there that is close to the size of the ego/tornado batts that you would recommend more that is under ~$70, or are the ego/tornado batts the way to go?

I got a Tornado yesterday, charged the batteries and am still using the first one on the first charge today, 18 hours later (stock 510 battery lasted me 1 hour). I was surprised at how small it actually is. Somehow pictures of it gave me the impression is was larger than it is. It is not even as large as a cigar, length or diameter.

I would highly recommend it and if you already have a 510, you can just order the battery, a charger adapter, and a cone (optional) for better looks and save a few bucks.

If you want even longer battery life, don't mind a large device, and have a fat wallet, what thewomenfolk said.

The eGo/Tornado is made to give consistent vapor right up until the battery dies. First hit off a fresh battery is the same as the last hit. Love mine and would recommend it, especially if you were a heavy smoker as the battery life is wonderful!

Definately get the cone if you buy seperately. It controls the draw and warms the vapor. The eGo/Tornado is offered several places. Shop around for price / warranty. Janty, the originators, offer a 6 mth warranty.

get a usb pass through if you are like me and vape allot. the usb pass through gives you stronger smoke and saves battery usage for me because I think I wore my 510 batteries out in 2 weeks . They didn't seem to hold a charge long enough and the 510 smoke wasn't strong enough then some one told me about the DSE901 which I then purchased but I also bought an extra atty , battery and usb passthrough. The usb has really saved my batteries .I like the DSE allot better , have had it for 3 weeks now . For me I only use my batteries when im out and they last 5 hours my 510 lasted 3 tops. The usb passthrough plugs right into you're computer.

..hopefully I can find somewhere that has the quick charger in stock.

I've heard the slower chargers are actually better because the battery will last longer (not the charge, the entire life of the battery). As long as my fresh battery lasts as long as it takes to charge the dead one, I prefer the slower charger that came with my Joye 510 and Tornado + the little extension/adapter, of course.

+1 for the eGo or Riva. Consistent all day vape in a small package. I had the same problem with the standard 510 kit. With an eGo you will get about 3.1 volts under load until it dies many hours later.

If money is not an object, there are some very nice big battery mods out there. You could use an eGo in public and your big battery mod everywhere else. A mod will give you higher voltage. The eGo says it's 3.7 v. It's not... It is without a load, but is drops to 3.1 or 3.2 volts under an actual load. A "true" 3.7 volt mod will have a peak charge of 4.2 volts and drop to 3.7 or 3.9 under load. That depends on the battery you choose for it. I love the eGo but I take my Silver Bullet everywhere and my wife now uses the eGo's... I work in a highly populated office and still would rather have good performance than stealth. The Silver Bullet is not small... but it sure is pretty and might outlive me. QUALITY! Each of us has their own preference. I'm not saying get the Silver Bullet- there are dozens of other comparable mods that you may prefer better. It's all about what is most important to YOU!
