Hi, I'm a new member who has been lurking.
Anyway, I'm currently using 2 ego c twists and noticing that they are both nearly dead. It used to take 90 min to get a charge that lasted 16 hrs, now they LIVE on charger.
I need recommendations for a good mod or something. I want LOTS more flavor than I'm currently getting. I'm to that requires vv and vw?
I'm still relatively new to this...
Any help choosing would be GREATLY appreciated. :)

One of the best things you can do is go to an apv with rechargeable batteries. There are quite a few around and you will get lots of suggestions. It is so much easier to charge the batts at your leisure and then just put them in the mod when it gets low. After the initial outlay for a good charger/batteries you are good to go for quite awhile and all you have to do is replace the basic battery not the whole setup. I have 2 year old 18650 batteries that I am still using..

It depends on your budget and what you value.

You should check out the AVP forum here. There you will find detailed discussions of all the favorite Mods. There seems to be 4 very devoted camps. The Vamo/Evic/Sid/Zmax camp. The MVP camp. The REO camp and the Provari camp.

All these camps have their virtues and drawbacks.

You are going to get a lot of different opinions.

For me, the Provari Mini works best for me for many reasons. You may find that another mod fits your criteria better.

Good luck to you.

You say you're relatively new to this...

You don't say what capacity they are. The (really) rough estimate is typically 1 hour vaping per 100 mAh rating. So by that measure, your 19 hours would be a 1900 - and I've yet to see that in a Twist or Spinner type.

Are you sure your Twists are fully charged? I found my 1300 Spinners would take at least a couple of hours to fully charge. Perhaps you're just not letting them go full cycle on the charger? (Charger light should go green, steady. And battery light should be off.)

It might be, too, that as you progress you're just vaping a lot more? Easy to do!

The MVP is a fine device, and a good choice if you're comfortable with the shape.

While looking at the Vamo, you might also want to have a look at the Innokin SVD. Also a tube mod, VV/VW, and, imo, much better made than the Vamo.

I am currently using two 900s which I highly doubt are joyetechs. They are taking 4+ hours to charge, and giving me about 3-4 hrs of life, and yes, the cycle is completing. I want to stay fairly low budget wise, because I will want two of whatever I get. My current issue (besides obviously battery life) mainly that the fruit flavors I love so much taste like burnt nasty if I use a voltage higher than about 3.4, and I can barely taste them there.

So, my needs are: More (and better) taste, removable battery so I won't have to replace the entire unit, more battery life, and something a bit longer lasting than the 3-4 weeks these guys have lived.

Some interesting features would be nice, as would something that won't scald my wicks if the vv button acts up (burned a wick to death not too long ago because of a loose vv twist button - not in a protank, but still...)

I do absolutely chain vape, so I know that's a factor, but the 4+ hour charge time has me believing the batts are on their way out. I was told 200 charges was the lifespan, I'm sure at this point they are close to that already. I seem to have an asthma-related PG sensitivity, so I'm vaping 70/30 VG/distilled water, which I know affects flavor.

Hi espresso I got to second the SVD suggestion . I have both the Vamo and the SVD and while I like my Vamo the SVD is superior in it's construction . Also have you considered going 100%vg there are lots of vendors that offer that option , I regularly vape 100%vg from Heather's Heavenly Vapes in protanks with no problem . Their flavoring in their purity line is not pg based so you can get organic 100%vg if you want there's no reason to give up flavor or use watered down juice if you don't want to. You can put together a system with SVD or Vamo with 2 batteries and a charger for 60 bucks . I hope this helps .

here is a stateside link....less waiting (sorry retic, not trying to take wind out of sails) Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape good deal .... 2600mAh battery and I've heard only good things about this device (I ordered one myself)
meanckz the MVP is a great mod but the OP wants removable batteries that's why I suggested an SVD and she's concerned with price hard to beat FT on that account .

I recommend the MVP. If you can get over the fact that it's a box (which should take about 2 minutes) you'll spend the rest of your time wondering why you didn't get one sooner. Very high value device with unmatched battery life. You can charge it from your computer, car, wall, and use it while it is charging. Variable voltage up to 5 volts, and either comes with 2 iclear 16 (very good clearo) or a single iclear30 (good as well). Extremely hassle free device and very well made imo. Hope this helps ya.

Whoops, missed the bit about removable batteries. If you don't mind me asking, is the reason you want removable batteries due to the experience with your ego setup? I thought I would hate the fact that the MVP didn't have removable batteries, boy was I wrong. I can charge it anywhere.

    ooops...I musta missed that
here's to my limp sails

Edit: it's true that FT is hard to beat when it comes to price, but lately (if you put in a bit of time) I've seen a lot of good deals that ship within the US that come very close to FT pricing and you won't have to wait for weeks on

Since you're talking removeable battery, you're talking mods. You can either go VV, VV/VW, or mechanical. Or put something like a Kick in a mechanical to get VW. A huge variety to investigate :)

In the tube mods the SVD, Vamo are good units. But jump down and do some reading the VV thread: Variable Voltage APV Discussion

You'll also need at least two batteries, more is better, and a good charger. Don't skimp on any of those items. Something that runs 18650's, you can easily get good 2900 mA ones.

Or, get two (you said!) MVP2 units. But they're not replaceable, but are 2600 mAh rated, and are very well made.

Yes, 200 - 250 or so charge cycles is the usual rating. Probably the lower end chain vaping, as that would put extra stress on them.

Might just need to add extra flavoring to your mix?

Any hardware failure can cascade, and damage other parts. Or do you mean that the adjustment knob was so loose the setting changed in your pocket and you didn't realize it until vaping? The SVD has a pushbutton method to lock the current settings - vv or vw mode, and the setpoint in volts or watts. Some of the others may, as well.

what about a vamo v5? any opinions?

The batteries are replaceable (I use dual 18350's in mine, so a new set of batteries run about $12 or so including shipping) and you're gonna need a GOOD charger, add another $25-$35.

On a fully charged set of batteries, I get well over a full day's vaping. (I don't chain vape).

I like my V3 a lot, BUT the threads are seriously wonky, and this seems to be a problem that pops up here and again on the forums.

I also own a Smoktech Zmax, and it, so far, pleases me more than the Vamo.

BOTH devices have experienced the issue with the center pin getting pushed down into the body and either not making contact with my atomizer OR shorting out to the body, I did the O-ring "fix" on both of them, took about 5 minutes and they're both much better now.
