Need first timer help... Kanger PT2

It was gurgling, before I added more cotton. Now it's a tight draw, but still leaking, occasionally spitting back into my mouth. Should I still try a second cap?

No; if it wasn't sealed by the silicone cap it would gurgle.


What internal diameter coil did you make?

I made protank coils for months, and near the end I discovered it was better to wrap on a bigger diameter screwdriver that wouldn't fit in the slots, then use a smaller screwdriver that fits in the slots to mount the coil; then I could put more cotton inside the coil; and that way I don't need to put extra cotton on top;
that extra cotton on top tends to expand and block airflow, so the more cotton you can fit inside the coil where it is kept contained, the better; meanwhile you can still add a thin topwick and not a lot of topwick that might expand and block the airflow.

Standard 14g tongue ring, which should be 1.6mm. I did 9 wraps with 30g kanthal. The next bigger thing I have to use is a Q-Tip... which barely doesn't fit inside the cutouts.

A. I use THIS ONE but anything similar will do the job. But don't go under 10 bucks or you will be buying junk.
B. The kit sounds fine. I don't have any fancy coil building gear.
C. For what you are wanting to rebuild I would say 30G or smaller (down to 32G). On normal RBAs I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than 28G.

Nailed it on the first try, I can pretty much do Protanks in my sleep nowadays. It gets a little science nerdy in there once in awhile but there's everything you need to know.. Your Protanks will have a whole new life hehe..
