Hello to all =)
I am so happy Ive found this forum, its seriously better than any other forum Ive found so far. The pure wealth here is amazing! Im just sad that I didnt find it before laying out $400 for products I realize now I never should have bought.
A little history: (If you dont care and just want me to get to the point feel free to move right on to the questions! lol)
My daughters both wanted the e-cig for xmas and I knew the local mall sold electronic cigarettes. Unfortunately I didnt know very much about them, so I didnt realize until I got there, the day before xmas eve, that they sold just one type and the cost for a basic kit (2 batts, 1 atty, 5 carts and a wall charger) was $150 per kit! I had gone to the mall with the intention of also picking up a kit for myself but at these prices I just couldnt afford it. I had no choice however, but to buy the expensive kits for the girls since I had waited until the last minute! Yes, I will probably wait until the day before to shop next year also. Some lessons are just hard learned!
So, realizing the mistake I made, consumer savvy me went home and googled e-cig kit. I opened the first 20 or so links and comparison shopped as to what came in the kit to what the cost was. I had no idea there were differences with the kits other than one has a cartridge and one a cartomizer. I thought all were made equal. I found the E9 cigarette on e-cig dot com and purchased the kit with 2 batts, an usb charger, 4 carts, and a carry case. Though I dont have anything for comparison this kit seems to have good vapor and throat hit and Im happy with that part. However, the shorter battery it came with is lucky to last for the equivalent of 2 cigarettes and the larger battery maybe 5 and thats pushing it. Both batteries take hours to charge, about 6 hours for the larger one! So my great plan to quit smoking the day it came in has miserably failed since both batteries are dead within 3 hours (Im a pack n a half a day smoker) and take so long to charge that I am left for hours in between with nothing to smoke but real cigs =(
I have spent the last 4 or 5 days pouring through the info here, making notes (yeah Im a geek), saving links and doing TONS of reading and You tubing, and I think I have a good idea of what I want to order but I am stuck between the kr8 and the joye 510.
SO, if anyone uses these (preferably someone who has used both because everyone itd be better for comparison, I think?) wouldnt mind taking a few minutes (more than you already have to read my entirely too long post) I would be so very grateful! I really love vaping and want to make sure I get something I really like! Although with my shopping habits and I want it now attitude Ill probably end up purchasing multiple pvs over the next few months! Lol
Here we go with my Qs:
1. It seems from all the reading Ive done on here that both the kr8 and the 510 are about the same on vapor and throat hit, or pretty close to it. True?
2. The batteries: The life of the battery is VERY important to me, and I do plan on purchasing something like the ego in the future but for now I want the slim stick feel to help kick my analog habit. I see there are two sizes of batts for the kr8 (discounting the shorty) and two for the 510. Am I right in assuming the small kr8 is the same length as the small 510? Im talking only batts not with the atty's, carts or carto's attached. If not which kr8 is equal in length to the standard 510?
3. The standard 510 battery and the standard kr8 battery (or which ever two are about the same length). What is the comparison here to how any puffs per charge? Are they about the same or does one battery last a lot longer than the other?
4. The mega 510 battery and the long kr8, are these also the same, and hold the same time before recharge?
5. The E9 I use now has a cartomizer. My daughters who have the Smoke51 Trio have cartridges. After dealing with both I really like the carts better. I find them easier to re-fill and I cant see ever having to buy them again since I can buy fluval or blue foam to use when the polyfill gets old whereas with cartomizers once the material needs replacing you must buy cartomizers. I realize I will have to buy atomizers with the carts but I would expect not to have to buy them as often as I would cartomizers if I keep them clean. Therefore my question is (finally), is there an atomizer that will fit the kr8 or is there an adapter to use the kr8 battery with the an atty (and which atty)?
6. Ive heard that manual batts from 510 go off easily from movement or sound, do they also on the kr8?
7. And one last less important question, I dont know what model the E9 from ........... is, but does anyone know if either the kr8 or the 510 are compatible with my E9 charger or cartos?
Sorry for the long post. I seem to want everyone to know every detail to the point of ridiculous and even knowing Im doing it, I cant help myself!
