Hello all, new to forum and seeking help with figuring out this whole vaping thing. I was a cigarette smoker for years. Finally turned to vaping a year ago. Started with Uwell and switched to Nord 2. I switched from vaping salt nic 25mg, regular, and 0 nicotine all while using 0.8 mtl coil. I never liked the RPMs. Everything was fine till I bought a puff bar 2 weeks ago and now I'm hooked on the amazing flavor it gives! (Lush vanilla strawberry custard & UnoMas strawberry yougurt) Now when I hit my Nord it seems too airy/flavorless, compared to disposable. I went out and purchased several strawberry juices (coastal clouds strawberry & cream & The Finest Strawberry Custard, etc) and none of them compare! I also enjoyed the smooth quiet hit from disposable compared to my Nord that makes a crackling noise. My question is: why does the disposable have so much flavor and is there a vaping device I can purchase that will give the same effect? I'm not interested in a big device or big clouds. I prefer a more discreet one. Quiet, good battery life with maybe a tighter pull?
TIA

I'm not exactly sure what flavor the Nord gives versus whatever this puff bar gives as I personally use rebuildables and stay fairly clear of anything that will be hard to get in the U.S. in a post deeming world (as that's where I live).

Your best bet is to start a thread in the pod section of the forum, for your best advice.

    Welcome BBRose1018

Straight down the rabbit hole is where you are, where we have all been, looking for the perfect combination of equipment and flavor for that forever vape. I believe you'll get it the way you want it.

I can only suggest to you what has worked for me for several years, as that forever vape. I really enjoy the reliable, durable Aspire eLeaf line, which is still pretty easy to find, including the BVC glass tank that's easy to fill and travels well, never leaks. The whole setup can be adjusted to provide that "discreet" vape you want. I vape while waiting for my car to be serviced, indoors at the dealership waiting room. I vape in restaurants after eating, which I think is any former smoker's favorite time to vape.

The eLeaf batteries last for years and have adjustable wattage, and the coils come in various ohms levels. I like the 1.6 ohms best, but between the variable power and choice of coils, you can get the strength and pull the way you want them.

The tanks last as long as you want to keep them, but the coil needs changing about once a month (for me anyway), less often if you're rotating several tanks. I usually have about five tanks in use. I fill them all at once so I can keep the fidget factor down. I also use the flange style ego-to-510 adaptors, one for each tank, again to keep fidget factor at a minimum.

I feel on top of the world with my setup, but the market is drying up due to the shipping restrictions spreading, so get yourself one setup right away, to see if you like it, and if you do, hoard like mad. I keep my future batteries in the fridge, though some say you don't have to. I feel that if the practice doesn't help, at least it doesn't hurt.

I put my flavors in LDPE bottles with needle caps and silicone loop needle covers, because I find it's the way to fill the tanks without losing liquid. Even the fine point bottle tips that come on the commercial mixed flavors will waste liquid, IMO, and the unicorn ones are the worst. The LDPE bottles, needle caps and tip covers are super cheap. You can buy 100 at a time without it hurting too badly.

Whatever you do or try, I wish you the best of luck.

Try dialing down the wattage on the Nord 2 until you only hear faint crackling and tighten/restrict the airflow (the air intake, wherever that is on the Nord 2) with inserts or turning of an airflow ring. If it still feels too airy, you can always place a piece of masking tape partially or fully covering as many holes as you need to. I do not own the Nord 2 so I cannot help you out with that specifically. Basic rule of thumb is, burning the coil at the lowest possible wattage while still vaporizing the juice and restricting the airflow to create a longer draw (less clouds) will provide you with better flavor. You'll have to do quite a bit of testing to figure out what's giving you the best flavor. If you are looking for suggestions on a new pod system/kit, there are quite a few people with pod experience in here. @AngeNZ is going through quite a pod phase, so she'd be a great source of information. She's also an MTLer, which is what it sounds like you're after for fine tuning your pod settings.

    Sounds like you prefer MTL?

Have a look at Vaporesso's Luxe Q. Fantastic flavour, 2ml refillable pod, tiny and has a 1000mah battery. It has airflow options, and is more aimed at MTL smaller vapour production.

For something a bit bigger, a pod mod combines a small mod with a pod tank on top. For MTL the Innokin Kroma Z is fantastic
    Kroma Z - Product | INNOKIN®
It's smaller in size than some other pod mods. It has a 4ml pod tank that takes Z-coils. The same coils used in the Innokin Zenith and Zlide tanks. It comes with a MTL 0.8ohm coil which has great flavour, or if you want a tighter draw - the 1.6ohm coil may be better:

I used a Zenith tank when I first stopped smoking, and found the coils last a long time and are reliable.

Good insight, TY! I've been trying several different coils, juice, wattage settings and so far it's not cutting it with the Nord 2. BUT I haven't tried the tape thing. Makes sense what your saying but not sure if I wanna walk around with rigged tape around my Nord, lol. For now I've just been buying disposables, but looking to purchase a new device soon!

Yeap when I saw this Nord on their website even tho I don't own one I could see it doesn't seem like a proper mouth to lung device cause the coil doesnt seem good mtl coil and the airflow seems airy but it's ok...
Many proper mouth to lung devices out there and maybe a little more costly but defenetly worth it in the long run
