Hello there, im new here, and i would be really glad if you guys could help me in choosing my starter kit since this will be my first, im thinking of the kangertech subtank mini kit or the kangertech subox mini kit, if you dont mind me asking, can i know which one is better, i would love the clouds but not that much, a good amount to just chill and do some Os and other things, i would like the flavour too, but more to the cloud, like 60% cloud chasing 40% flavour, thank you for your time

Hi and welcome. The subtank mini kit and the subox mini kit are the same thing, or rather the subtank mini is the tank that comes with the subox mini kit. I think you mean maybe the Topbox mini kit versus the Subox mini kit. Basically, the Topbox is the new model of the Subox. It's 15 watts more powerful, includes Temp Control, and the subtank is upgraded into the toptank with juice flow control. Either one should suit you just fine. I'd probably buy the Topbox by preference, but you might find a great deal on a subox from a dealer trying to clear old stock inventory.

Either way, you'll need a battery. Get a good one, like a Samsung 25R or an LG HG2. If you get the Topbox, and intend to run it wide open at 75 watts, a Sony VTC4 battery would be a better choice. The mod has a charger, but I recommend a stand alone one. If so, think Nitecore or Xtar. And you might want a spare battery, one to vape while the other one charges.

Really good direction. I lean towards the Top box for the juice flow control. It is just something to learn about and it does make a difference. If you want to take it a bit slower or not have to deal with it on day one, just open it halfway.

Get the extra battery and charger. Also, people will say get back-ups for your back-ups. Crap happens and you don't want to be without a working mod.

Good luck!

I just saw the kit at misthub for 54.99

I would go with the Subox mini kit.

Lotsa reasons.

1. A real 18650 mod goes up to 60 watts.
2 a real tank with standard 510 pin standard. If you need another tank just sit it on your mod.
3. Variable coils for mouth to lung inhales or full lung inhales.
4. An RBA. So you can try rebuilding.

A lot of vapers try to go cheap. Then quuckly learn they should have asked before buying. Too many get thise 650-1100 mah batteries and learn they should have gotten a decent device in the first place. Hard to beat an 18650 external battery with up to 3000 mah of power.

You will need a few extras.

1. A good charger. I would rather ruin a charger than my mod if a battery vents while charging.

2. Plastic battery case if you want to carry a spare battery or two with you.

3. Good flat top 18650 batteries. I use Samsung25r, and LG HG2 batteries.

First WELCOME to ECF and you will find a wealth of information and many friendly helpful members.

Vaping for a few years I recently purchased my first MOD. Between recommendations here and at the Vape Shop near me I was recommended an iStick TC40W and a Nautilus Mini tank. I have versatility and easy. Worked out well for me and the Nautilus Mini is perfect for my needs I bought a second one for the first flavor I found I actually like!

I second the SubTank mini, or TopTank kit. I use my SubTank Plus (just a bigger version) as my daily vape. It's the best (for me) for reasonable juice consumption, driving, working, etc. The RBA section is nice, works great with a lot of flexibility.

You could also get the nano kit, but it doesn't work with the RBA. A friend of mine quit smoking using the nano, he loves it.

I also second the separate charger, silicon battery case/sleeve and 2-3 batteries.

I just worked up an order on "My Vapor Store" for the nano kit...... I just picked a site I've purchased from before.

Nano: 48 (out of stock currently)
Bats: 22
Charger: 20

Basically $90 gets you there.

I haven't had either one of those kits, but I am on my second Kanger. I started with the Nano, as it went up to 50 watts. I did not care for their tank that came with it, so I upgraded to a Crown top. The mod itself served me well & provided me enough watts to enjoy .5 coils. Now I have the Kanger 120 mod with that Crown on it. Now I'm into the .25 coil range, having access to more watts.

If I had it all to do over again I would have just started with the 120 w mod from Kanger with the Crown tank on it from the get go.

I am also quite new. Started vaping about a month ago. I bought a topbox mini as my first kit. It seems to be the best all round for the price.

The topbox mini kit and subox mini kit. The topbox mini is the improved version with extra 15w power, temperature control mode and top fill tank. The topbox mini will allow you to try temperature control coils too. The downside is the toptank will leak about a drop of juice every few days. Cant work out why yet. Other than that it's been great.

Or a SMOK R200 with 6 batts, 6 bay efest charger and TFV4 full kit. Now that's not messing around.

The Imren 3200mah is actually a 17a CDR cell, they are not 40a.

Well, they are over stated a bit (2x+) but I use them and they go to 140 watts (as high as I go with series) no problem. Seem to last quite a while also. 8V*17A = 136 watts, close enough. Never had a problem and I've had IMREM since day one, and EFest, Basen, etc.

Using a regulated power device as battery voltage decreases amp demand from the batteries increases.
At & just before the low voltage cut off amp demand will be highest.

Using an example of 140w with a dual battery power device.
140w / 6.4v = 21.87a

Use whatever you like, but, in the new members section recommending re wrapped erroneously labeled lower quality cells to someone new to vaping isn't safe advice or a good idea.

High quality name brand cells from reliable vendors/dealers are no more expensive and in some cases less expensive than the re wrapped falsely labeled variety.

Edited post to remove the brand.

welcome to ECF. the subtank mini would be a great choice. simple, reliable and very versatile. I have 4 of them that I use on mechanical mods with the rba deck.wide range of factory coils available and you can also rebuild with a drop in RBA deck if you chose to. i'm a flavor chaser and use 1.5 ohm coils but you can also use .5 ohm factory coils for cloud chasing. I have one top tank and the top fill option if nice but those o-rings need extra maintenance or the tank will leak and I find bottom fill more convenient. definitely get good batteries to be safe.this is one area where you do not want to try and save a few pennies. even in a regulated mod. bad batteries is like playing russian roulette with a pipe bomb welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay here
