They do. You probably have a connection issue.

First thing to try: Take a little toothpick or bent paperclip, insert it into the battery end of the atomizer and gently pry while pulling up -- gently. You want to raise the center post just a touch to make proper contact with the battery post.

Second thing to try: Take the same bent paperclip and do the same thing to the center post on the passthru -- again, gently.

What's probably happening is that the center posts aren't meeting, which means no connection. The center posts in both the atty and the battery are insulated from the rest of the case by a flexible heat-resistant material, and they can get pushed in if you screw on an atty or carto too far sometimes. So you need to pop them out a bit to get them to work properly. I suggest doing this to the atomizer first because they're cheaper to replace if you pull too far. :)

What did you plug the passthrough into? You cannot use a normal PT on a PC's USB nor on a battery charger USB to AC - the normal kind needs a 2amp USB to AC (aka 2000mA). If it is the kind of passthrough with a real inline battery then it should be usable on PC USB (or an AC to USB that supplies 500ma) but probably you need to let it charge some before it will work (that kind is just charging a battery while you vape the battery).

Also - if you have real Joye atty and bought some clone PT, you may need an extender because Joye makes their parts to pretty tight specifications to fit perfectly in their batteries, not in a clone that might have a higher collar.

Shorty 510 Extension and Connector

Do you have another atty or carto to test in the PT? And if you don't, then you need to buy spare parts.

well, it's still not working after a little charge. I am using the cable and plug the passthrough came with so i hope that works. I haven;t tried prying the pin up, but i'll do that next. I did however just finish my first 3.7 mod box. Took me quite some time (fat fingers and not so steady hands), but i got it all soldered, and it's totally awesome. Tons of vapor. Well, back to the ego bat. I'll let you guys know if prying the pin works.

frosty - the mod box - did you use Madvape parts? I am so tempted - I would love to build a mod box but I already HAVE a black mod. I wish they had a kit for the little 2-AAA boxes for a tiny 10440 mod - I know those battery slump a bit voltage wise but it would be cute.

Dormouse, carolinavapes.com has those little box mods about the size of a cig lighter....they are cute but haven't gotten one myself....
:)

I have one of those on the way here. I had no idea the 5 click routine worked on passthru's too.
That's funny :)

yeah it is funny, but that is what mine do.....The vendors usually will say in the description of the item.....I think it is hard to find the older ones now that don't have the protection on it...

Wow, just got a chance to revisit the thread here, and THANK YOU SO MUCH Sugar_and_Spice!!!!! The 5 click worked great!!!

Dormouse, yep, i got the box and bats from madvapes. Been using them for a few days now and it works great! I gave the ego-t battery/passthru to my wife and she likes it. I thing I am going to try my hand at a mod box/bottom feeder next. I like the clearomizers, but like many others i've seen they crack pretty easy. Plus, dripping is just more satisfying.

Thanks for all the help, guys!
