LOL! Already bought the Provari! I just may buy the Twist for the heck of it and compare it to the ones I have now! - Got my husband vaping now so there's no such thing as too many batteries in the house!

Congrats! You won't regret it. I remember the day when I got my provari :)

I'm sure I won't regret it. The ONLY thing I regret is not quitting analogs a long time ago! Actually, I started with ecigs in 2008 - but they weren't so great back then and I soon lost interest and went back to analogs.

wseyller, looks like we've been analog free about the same time - I'm 2 months and 1 day - where do you get that banner at the end of your posts?

And totally agree with you, Dragonbone!

So then I need to buy some 3.5 ohm attys. The ones I have at home are mostly stardusts (1.8 to 2.0 and 2.1 to 2.4) So 2.4 is the highest ohm that I have. Any suggestions on attys at high resistance? I like the idea of just filling up the stardusts, so anything along that line would be great.

You have to get an ego adaptor to use the stardust which provape sells. This is because the threads on the stardust are recessed. Also stardust cant handle much voltage or the wick Burns very easy. Just watch what voltage your set to. I think Madvapes sell some high resistance carto and attys. Ive seen 4.5 ohms. I personally like 3.0 ohm smoketecs in my dct tank.

If you don't have any experience already, a good way to go with the provari are some tank like a "dct tank". The carto is inside the tank and has holes punched in them to slowly suck in juice from the tank. There are various sizes and colors.

most hold 3.5 and 5ml juice

Ok, I have a few of those here at home that I used with my V4L diamond 808 thread. So can I just buy 510 carts to go in the tanks that I already have?

My real question - is the Provari compatible with both 510 and 808? - or do I still need the adaptor for each threading?

510 and 808 is very different and requires an adaptor.

I dont know if you can use a 510 carto in a tank designed for 808. I think the diameter is different and the 510 carto wouldnt fit.

I don't own a Provari myself but i've read and seen a lot of great thing about it and i'm positive that it is a great VV, If you don't have a budget, I say just go for it, I'm sure that in time you will experiment with higher voltage vaping. When you do, at least you know you have a great device to do it on. As for the Twist(this i do have), this is a cost efficient device and very effective. though it only goes up to 4.8v it is still a good performer. aww hell get em both, nuff said!

LOL Jason - my sentiments exactly!

I just looked at my Vivi Nova and it came with 2 additional replaceable coils in higher ohms (up to 2.8) so I think I'll be good with that type to start. My experience with tanks so far is that I have to keep the cart wet or I get a lot of dry hits. Maybe doing something wrong but it became annoying so I moved to the stardusts, which I had 0 problems with. I'm hoping the Vivi is the same and I'll be good to go

Yeah, I just realized that when I looked it up - I have adaptors so I could use it. I just realized I have a Vivi Nova (still in the box) that I haven't even opened. Have to look on my receipt to see what ohms I bought. Are you using single coil or double coil on your tank?

Single coil. I use 3.0 ohm around 5v which is 8.3 Watts. It depends on the juice. Basically start low on the voltage and increase it 0.1v at a time until you get that sweet spot. It varies with the juice. Also one carto may ohm out different from one to another. Good thing is the provari has a built in ohm meter to check your atomizers resistance.

cartos in the tank may have1, 2 or even 3 holes in them. The size of the hole makes a difference. Higher vg liquids need more holes since liquid is thick. Some people punch more holes or even slot them with a dremel.

I picked up a lava tube for my first vv. So far very happy with it! I have looked at the twists also, and may pick one up for work. The lava tube is a little too bulky for me to want to carry around at work, but still use it while driving, camping etc.

I'm also thinking of getting the twist for on the go. I have enough in my bag to weigh it down, never mind putting the Provari in there

Oh, I see - so I need to look at the specs to see how many holes the carto has - I'm getting this! Thanks for all your help - much appreciated

The provari is a heavy sob especially with the extended battery. I could probably use it as a hammer to fix stuff around the house.
