I personally dont like the voltage range. Couldnt imagine myself ever needing a voltage as low as 3.2. The top range of 4.2 isnt enough for me to want one. For the price though it is what it is.

I agree about the low volt - I never use that setting - I've never used anything over 4.2 so maybe it's time!!

Hi all,

I'm looking into purchasing a ProVari (mini) or an eGo Twist, however, I'm up for any other suggestions. My question is, is 4.8 v enough? ProVari at 6 v - do you all actually vape at 6 volts? And if so, how often and is it worth getting (for the amount of times I would actually use more than 4.8 v). Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but it seems to me that vaping at over 4.8 might make the juices taste burnt??

Thanks for any help - and if there is something between the ProVari and eGo twist that might be better, I am open for all suggestions. Thanks

There is no comparison, the Provari is a superior unit. Its allot more expressive also. But if the cost is not an issue, get the Provari.

Being that I have plenty of batts that I can just throw in my bag and go, I think I will get the Provari where weight and bulk won't be an issue if I'm just using it at home.

So is this basically the same thing as the Twist?

The Twist can provide any voltage between 3.2 and 4.8, sometimes just a touch more or less makes a difference. OTOH there is no battery indication until it shuts itself off.

The button is only used to fire or lock/unlock the device. That's a lot less wear on a button.
I am also a little more confident since it is genuine Joye. They have a good reputation and lots of experience with this style battery.

You should already have an idea if you require more voltage to enjoy your devices. I don't use tanks or dual coils (I love the Star Dusts and CE2s). The Twist could not provide more than 3.7 volts to dual coils (as I understand it) where as the new LTs and Provari can go much higher in voltage due to the increased amp limit.

It's a very personal decision and each of us must hoe our own row. (or buy one of everything as some people here do). Lol It's all good!

I only use the highest setting on the VV (4.2) so it seems I like the higher vv. I'm going to get the Provari, as I don't think the Twist is going to be a whole lot different than what I have.

you dont have too. the beauty with the provari is it is 2.9 to 6v do you can use pretty much any resistance. Though using 3 ohm vs 2 ohm at the same wattage will save you on battery life since you will use less current.

I had 2 of those. Some may take offense but I considered them cheap knockoffs. Mine only lasted about a month before thetop pulled out of one breaking the wires, and on the other the switch went all screwy.

Also, you could set it on 4.2v all you want but as the battery charge went down so did the vape quality.

It was a good idea and maybe even a good first attempt, but the design and quality were lacking imho.

As soon as I saw on their site that they would not accept or guaranty the batteries I could tell they had been having battery problems.

Edit: The Twist stays on the numbers even under load and a low battery. If it had a battery gauge and a pass-through charge capability, it would be perfect (for ME).

Yeah it's time I invest in another set of batteries for mine (provari). The vape time's getting shorter and shorter, but the good part is the vape stays the same until you can't vape anymore.

some vv devices are not regulated. The batterys voltage decreases as you use it. Same happens with the provari except that the provari constantly calbrates to keep the voltage you set. If you set it to 5v you will get exactly 5v from when the battery is fully charged until it dies

The Provari is now in my cart and just making sure I have everything I need. Charger and extra batteries - I think that's all I need. Good to know the volt stays the same on the Provari - that is definitely a bonus

TWIST!!! Believe me, (I have both) it works like a charm. I love it. And yes you are right regarding the 4.8v. I really don't know how anyone can vape at such high voltages. I am max on 3.8 on my Twist and 3.7 on my Provari.
What I love about the eGo Twist VV, is that you can do many things with it... In the pic below all those cartomizers etc. are interchangeable and there are thousands of ways to mix it up. You can always get the Provari or whatever other high $$$ mod later if you need it.
You will need more than one battery though.

We can vape 5v to 6v because of higher ohm atomizers. For example a 2 ohm @ 4v is 8 Watts. A 3.5 ohm @ 5.3v is 8 Watts. One advantage of using the 3.5 ohm would be that there is a higher range of voltages that can be used. This huge range in 0.1v increments allows us to fine tune the vape of certain flavors to a finer detail.
