Bought a USB Passthrough from E-cigcity, out the UK, and it does not work. Each time I push the button of the PT, the red light goes out on the USB wall outlet plug, and nothing else.

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem might be? Could the UK use positive ground?

If I'm not mistaken, polarity does not matter, but current does. Your PS draws more current than the wall adapter can handle. You need a USB adapter rated at at least 1000 mA.

Well they told me it can be use in a PC usb port, so how many output does that have ?

Most USB ports will provide at least .5A, some will provide more (newer computers). Some people have killed the USB ports on their computer, some haven't.

Safest bet is to use an AC adapter of some sort - it's best if it supplies over 1A (1000mAh), and over 1.5A is even better.

Tried it on two 5V, 1000 mah devices

do you have a multimeter? if so, take the atomizer off the passthrough, set the multimeter to DC volts and hold the leads on the atomizer connector (center and outside, being careful to not short them together) and hit the button - you should see 5v.

let us know what you get.

I get 5.2 Volts, and the light on the Wall USB goes out each time, also tried it on a portable 5 V 1000 mah charger.

If you're getting 5v, I wouldn't *think* it was defective. It's possible you could be having some sag from small-gauge wiring - I know that with my passthrough, I have to have the AC adapter set at 6.5v to get an actual 5v at the atomizer.

This is heavy wire 2.0 USB High speed premium cable

Smokie , 1000mah portable pack may not provide 1000ma. You need a USB Wall 1-1.5A adapter. My 5V 510's PT works on and off from PC USB ports and only works with 1000ma+ output USB adapters.

And what model of the PT for? If you have a M401's PT ,it doesn't work with USB Wall adapter but work with PC USB and USB-Car adapter( i have one like that). Hope this help!

I gave a last try using mt PC, and it WORKED,Vapes MAD, but I rather use a different port than my PC. Do you know the Volts, and mah output of the USB on my PC. And do you know where I can buy a higher rated wall USB outlet, @ what rating would be good?

No one sells the one you just plug into the 5 V wall outlet, that has a female USB end with a higher mah rating than 1A

Not that anyone has found, yet. Belkin and others make USB wall chargers, but they all seem to be 500mAh or so.

I have one that is a 5 V, 1000 mah, and that does not work. Do you think I need higher volts, or higher mah, the PT puts out 5.2 volts when I checked it on the meter.

Went to my PC crate in the basement, and dug out a USB 4 port hub, now the wall plug of it says 5 Volt, 2.3A, and it works like a $15- china made 510 PT, but the PC usb puts out a lot more vapor like a 6 Volt Mod, just wondering if the PC usb output is 6 Volts.
