I can't even get my 80vg juice to wick well with any of the several coils I've tried. I normally vape it between 30-40w, but have been taking "primer puffs" to keep getting more juice into the coil.

Sometimes instead of puffing I blow while firing the button..the coil will wick for me either way..blowing I can watch for vape coming out the air slot..I also watch for little bubbles coming from the juice inlets in the tank..once it starts wicking then I can vape normally. I do this when changing flavors mostly but it works well to get s new coil wicking too..least it does for me..

I'll give that a try next time I use it.

@sillypanda Yeah, that is where I'm at, priming it before each hit. Very annoying, and one reason its sitting on a shelf instead of on a mod, heh.

I was SOO tempted to buy a dripper yesterday but I don't know much about rebuilding and don't want to risk injuring myself. I'm just hoping I can figure this thing out. Kinda disappointed since I read so many good things about this. I'm gonna change the coil tomorrow (3rd coil.. in 3 days). *fingers crossed*

Its a great tank.. I've been using the same coil almost 3 weeks now..I install the coil in the base making sure its tight and adjust the bottom so those juice inlets are visible in the slots ..I know some people install it in the stem so they can fill it all the way up but that seal has to be tight ..it also likes the higher wattages and absolutely vapes awesome..I drip too and
this tank comes close without being messy, lol.. I'm sure you guys will get yours going good too...

I found rewicking the coil with Japanese organic cotton to help me in both flavor and wicking the juice.

That may be something for you to try after you wear out the wicking in your coils @sillypanda. Takes a little practice to get it right but I like the coils I've rewicked better than the stock ones.

Day 4 - Welps.. I just changed out the coil I've been using since day 2 and took some pics. It seems like the coil is only burnt in the center and everything is still nice and clean looking which probably explains the inconsistency of the coil. I guess it was a bad coil. The cotton was sticking out too. Installed my 3rd coil in, primed, and I'm now hoping it doesn't act out again. :glare:

Wow! I've NEVER seen my coils look like that! That should be wide open all down the cork screwing coil..look at a new one like this to see what I mean..I'd maybe try different juice too..This coil uses ceramic fiber, so it really doesn't burn easily.. That looks like gunk build up to me, probly from trying to vape at way tooo low of wattage..try 30w or higher with a different juice, and new coil.. ..never had a problem, especially like this, doing that way..wow, lol

Vincom, gonna try that right now! Hope it works!

Smacksy, WOW 100% VG? I was told by the guys at my local shop that Cereal Killa (90% VG) wouldn't work that well with the Atlantis since VG was so high.

Don't understand your issue with CK at all...

All day, every day, no probs. Mr. Cookie is high VG, too.

I think your issue is priming your coil correctly.

I put about 4-6 drops right onto the coil. I don't drop it straight down the hole, rather, I tilt it slightly so that I'm dripping on the insides of the coil, if that makes sense.

Also, when you have the coil in the base, before filling the tank and tightening everything down, shoot a drop of your juice into the 4 holes on your coil. I find that this promotes much better wicking once your tank is back together.

Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense and I'll up a picture for you. I love my Atlantis, it performs great. Want you to experience that too!

Good luck! :vapor:

The uneven wear on the coils is "normal". It occurs because they use nonresistance & resistance wire. Basically the outer portions of the coil are NR, and about 4 wraps in the middle are resistance, so only the middle part heats up. I'll take a pic in a bit.

Good luck with the new coil.

what do you mean, smacksy?
As a recall, on Day 1 (using the Cereal Killa 90% VG), burning seemed fine aside from the HORRIBLE dry burn it gave me from not priming the coil first. I replaced it after an hour of use because the burnt taste wouldn't go away. I switched juice too. I don't recall much dry hit after the initial puff. Maybe I should go back to that.

I'm replacing coils every friggin day when my ex-coworker replaces his once a month. UGHHH!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Ohh.. GREAT TIPS!! Thank you, headcheese!! I didn't really have much issue with the Cereal Killa aside from the first pull. I admit, I did not prime it. The shop guys by me was telling me CK wasn't gonna work with the Atlantis so I switched it out of my tank. I will give it another try tho!

You should see the coil clear in the center all the way down as this is where your airflow comes thru..no gunk or anything should be in that center passage..wicking is around the outside of the coil (called a vertical or chimney build). As I've stated many times before this coil wicks fast for me with the higher wattages ..install a new coil in the base tightly, fill your tank with juice, screw the bottom in making sure the juice inlets are visible in the slots, set airflow to wide open, take a couple deep lung pulls without firing the button to help prime it , let it sit a few minutes and take your first hit, at 30w...it should hit really really well in or about after 4 or 5 deep lung pulls..works great even for my little sister!...can only try to help you so much..good luck!

So has the new coil worked better for you? My coils seem to be gunking up faster than others as well. I've been getting about a week or so out of them before the vapor drops off too much. I don't see how others get 3-4 weeks. I'm running mine with the aspire sub ohm battery. Is it possible that giving them more power would cause them to last longer and not gunk up as bad? I'm wanting to buy the new 50w istick when it comes out to use with my Atlantis.

Only if you don't prime them correctly ;)

Does your pack of coils have the scratch-off authenticity code on the back?

Want to make sure you don't have knock-offs!

FTR - I only get about 1-1.5 weeks out of a coil before I want to change it out.

I think the difference between some getting that and others getting 3-4 weeks comes down to the age old matter of taste/vapor production being subjective

I'm doing just that now. I know its starting to get repetitive and I apologize. Coil is nice and tight, saturated wick really well, airflow is at widest setting, currently pulling without firing. Gonna wait a few more minutes before I fire it. I really REALLY appreciate all your help!!
