Today I bought a package of the blue foam at Petsmart. I cut a piece and slid it into the cart and trimmed it off at the top. Then I loaded it up with juice and it seemed to work good for a few hits then stopped working. I took the cart out and looked at the foam, still wet. I fooled with it a bit and put the cart back in, and it worked ok for a few hits. Doesn't work very reliably. I thought, well, maybe the automizer wasn't working very well, but dripped on it and it works fine. Any thoughts here? Thanks.

If the foam is compressed too much in the cart it will hold juice too well and not wick. You can try cutting just enough wider to barely compress when it is in the cart. Another option is to cut a cube just big enough to sit on the "shelf" on the inner wall of the cart (if its a 510 cart, not sure about other models), fill the cart to just above the shelf, and insert to foam piece to sit above the juice on the shelf, then fill up the foam with more juice.

Another consideration is if the atty bridge is pushing the foam down into the cart without the foam sort of making a "bowl" indentation around the bridge, then juice may have problems wicking to the bridge. Some fill the cart with the foam and insert a coffee-stirrer straw down one side as a vent to help the juice circulate. I've done this but it didn't have a big effect to me...others like it though.
