Hi all! I'm new to all this vaping stuff. Got an ego c starter kit and one 10ml bottle of liqua original tobacco flavor e-liquid a week ago. Tried it and it was pretty good. Premade e liquids are rather expensive here, in Lithuania, so I have decided to move on to DIY immediatly. After some research on the web, I have ordered 2 bottles of base (vpg 26mg and universal 18mg) and 5 different flavors (lemon, coconut, menthol tobacco, black cherry and canadian). All these came from inawera, company based in Poland, just across the border of Lithuania, so I got it pretty fast.
So I started mixing right away. At first, i have poured 5 drops of flavor for 10 ml of base. But after 24 hours it was very weak, so I have doubled the amount of flavor. It got better, but still not what I expected. Am I doing something wrong? How much drops is 1% of 10ml? I don't have any measuring equipment at the moment, just 10 ml bottles from inawera and 1,1 ml ego c cartridges. I apreciate any help on this.

Ps.: sorry for my english, if I have made some mistakes. :)

Welcome to ECF :)

How much 1 drop is ....that is hard to say because all bottles give different size of drops. All I can say is add a little more flavor and see if it helps. Also after you add the flavor, it may help if you put the bottle in hot water and leave until it goes cold this helps the flavor to get into the liquid a little faster. Be careful if it is a plastic bottle that water is not too hot. Can you send an e mail to the company you buy from, they maybe can help you more with the amounts to add?

Hi and welcome to ECF. I also order my flavors from Inawera and they are good. Drops are extremely inaccurate.

First off if you're going to DIY it's important that you have 2 tools otherwise you'll end up with terrible results. First get an Oral Med Dispenser- about $2.00:

Clear coat with nail polish over the numbers otherwise the juice will erase them.

Next download this free easy to use calculator:

I use approx 15% flavoring in my recipes. Note on the Breakthru website there are also recipes.
Here also are some how to and recipe Subforums:

Good Luck.

This is approximate, but the average is 20-25 drop = 1mL. It depends on the viscosity of whatever liquid you're using. The flavour % varies depending on brand and concentration, numbers range from 1%-20%.

Vapooreyeser is right, you need some way of accurately measuring once you are making larger mixes. Those spreadsheets are invaluable, and the DIY section here is FULL of information. Use these resources to the fullest extent.

Wow, 20 % is 2 ml of flavor for 10 ml of base. That would be at least 40 drops per 10 ml if my calculations are correct. Isn't that too much? I'm doing this very carefully - increasing the flavor by 5 drops every 24 hours. 20% sounds a bit extreme for me. :)

By the way, ego c tank system is bull...., I get a lot of leaks from tank - atomizer connection. Looking forward for a twist battery & vision v3 clearomizers to come from China. That should improve my expierence of vaping, I think.

Reading through the DIY section: it really depends on the brand and flavour. Some flavours within the same brand will require a different %. Some companies make "super concentrated" that only needs 1-3%, some flavours (I've read cotton candy is quite mild for example) need a bit more than others.

DIY is like playing mad scientist. It takes a lot experimentation. The most useful tip I can suggest is making what I call "Drop batches". Take ~1mL of liquid, and add single drops of flavouring. This way you won't end up wasting 10mL of liquid while figuring out recipes. Write down your ratios as you go, when you find something you like scale it up.

Check out the DIY section, once you get the required post count ask questions there.

I don't want to sound harsh but you should know this stuff before you start mixing, it can be serious business. Research your flavours.

*I just popped to the site, they seem to be using more concentrated flavours (3-5%). Try steeping. I will recommend, again, to get post count and use the DIY section resources. I don't feel that the new member section is completely appropriate for DIY troubleshooting.

I find the flavor is weakened by tanks (carto type) and clearos so I also sometimes mix 20% flavoring. There's also the VG ratio to consider- more VG mutes flavor.

My recipes range from 0.25% to 35%. Neither end is extreme, it is what it is to get the flavoring to "work".

I'll agree with the others, accurate measurements are important to recreate a mix from your experiments, but so are notes. Keep notes.

When you have more posts under your account you will have access to my blog. Some helpful information is in there for DIY mixers of all levels of experience....at least I'm told they're helpful.
