The MVP is certainly a nice affordable mod, which can serve as either a primary or backup PV. I own one and highly recommend them. However, the OP wants a PV that will use the same batteries as his future Provari will use.

I caught that, but I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'm going to order the ProVari myself after Christmas. I've got the MVP 2.0 right now, and it's tiding me over until I pull the trigger. By buying something that just requires a charge there's no worry about a battery compatibility issue until it's time to order. That's just my $1.50. :)

Greetings Loki; Welcome to the forum. I think Vapoor eyes er is giving worthwhile advice -- I also have a Vamo (V3), and while I wish the build quality were a little better, it's generally a pretty decent device. I'm very happy with the vape quality.

Though I just started using a mech mod -- which I like a lot -- I'm thinking of getting another regulated mod like the MVP. As far as I can tell judging by feedback seen on ECF, most people who use Innokin products seem happy with them. (I actually bought an Innokin SVD, but it looks like the seller never shipped it--it was one of those 'looked too good to be true deals,' and it was!).

Good luck!

Regards
Glenn

innokin SVD is a very solid device, and i'm getting good use from it. Adjustable for battery options. But it's quite large using 18650's
innokin itaste VV 3.0 is a great option if your looking for something small, but the threads are not that great.
It's hard to recommend since there is so much coming out of china and they all have their pros and cons. Many positive reviewers for the MVP2 if your looking for a box mod.

hello and welcome to ECF
most of your avp's take a standard 18650 battery...the provari has an accessory cap you can purchase to use the 18650 battery with it so there ya go ;)

We recommend only using AW IMR high drain batteries in your ProVari
You must use batteries that have a positive button on the top. Flat top batteries will not work.
and as it is a 510 connection any 510 tank will work with it.
If you are happy with your ego I'd say stick with that and save up for the provari...however if you are really wanting something else

If you don't mind buying from china, waiting a month and buying knock off's I suggest Fasttech

if you like a bottom coil tank, I use the KWX10 Protank (2.8mL) a protank 2 clone even the base of the protank fits it ;) and comes with a beauty ring to hide ego threads $10 :D glass tank so no worries with tank cracking juices

if you like a top coil tank, I use the Vivi Nova (3.5mL) $7 ;) metal so no worries with tank cracking juices

I use this charger HUANGAO HG-1210W Dual Channels Li-ion / Li-FePO4 Batteries Charger comes with built in wall charger plug and then a plug in usb cord and usb car charger...only $8

and well as for apv....depends on your taste...just to name a few;
There's the Vamo
My baby the TECs a vamo knock off
Authentic Sigelei Zmax V3 Telescopic Variable Volt/Watt Mod
As mentioned an MVP
Authentic Sigelei Tmax V5 Variable Volt/Watt Box Mod

Stay away from any chargers and batteries that have the word fire in them (i.e. trustfire, ultrafire)

Vamo, and the ZMAX seem to be around what I'm looking for. Same batteries and whatnot, you guys have these models and are happy with them? What tanks would you suggest for 100% VG for these mods? Just trying to find a whole setup so I can order for Christmas for myself. LOL

As far as tanks the sky is the limit as all the APVs mentioned accept the most popular threading- 510 and eGo. In regards to clearomizers/ juice holders there are 2 types- bottom coil which give a cooler vape and top coil which give a warmer vape.

Edit: With 100% VG you'll prolly has an easier time with bottom coil Clearos as they will wick the thick juice easier IMO.

I've been using Vamo's for well over a year...almost two years now (I think). Started with the original Vamo and now have two V5 Vamo's. As far as I know Provari does not have a Variable Watt, yet.

Could be just me, but VW seems to perform better. Never owned a Provari, so I have no advise on it, but I wouldn't trade my Vamo for two Provari's.

Have not had a problem with the originals or the V5's. I can use button or flat top batteries, but prefer button tops.
Check out the co-ops there are some good deals there from time to time.

My tank of choice is the Protank, but many are in love with the Davide BDC (I have two of them)...they are great if you are not into rebuilding, great flavor for an off the shelf tank. I prefer the Protank with my own coils and wick.

I have a 4 bay Intellicharger (I4) bought from eBay for a reasonable price.

Good luck with your move forward and welcome to ECF...a fantastic bunch of peeps here. :toast:

I recommend getting the extension cap with the full size Provari, then you can use an 18650 battery which is the most common battery size and which most mods use.
Regulated mods which use an 18650 battery are plentiful: Smoktech SID/VMax/ZMax/TMax; Innokin SVD/134/VTR; Tesla; Vamo, etc.
Important to Know: The Provari requires button-top IMR batteries.

Yea gonna go for the extension cap it looks like with the 18650. Wasn't aware of the button top IMR requirement thank you, that limits you from flat top mods correct? Sorry peep still figuring out all the language.

We're talking about flat top batteries vs button top batteries; not flat top mods.

Most mods don't have a requirement about the type of battery top that they use, but the Provari does. Provape designed the Provari to accept only button top batteries as a safety feature, to prevent someone putting a battery in upside down which causes a bad thing to happen with mods called "reverse polarity". For instance, using a battery upside down with a Kick in a mechanical mod will ruin the Kick.

The actual connector top of the mod makes no difference; some have a tapered cone shape and some are flat topped.

I would have thought a Provari would have had reverse polarity protection built in.

I may as well be first to say it -- Get an MVP 2.0. It doesn't have a replaceable battery, it charges via USB port, and can go 2-3 days before needing another charge. 101vape.com has them for $40. Very nice unit with VV/VW for the price until you save up for the bad boy.

+1. a great mod at an even better price.
