Need help with my MVP

I am doing something wrong but can't figure it out. I bought my first MVP about a year ago. After a couple of months it stopped holding a charge...I'd plug it in when the amber light came on and even left it to charge overnight... but it had died . The supplier kindly replaced it at no charge. The same thing has just happened with the new one after only three months ! I have been using it with the supplied iclear 30. I am a heavy vaper, and I do tend to use the pass-through while charging. I've read other posts which indicate a problem with the charging port...but it's happened to me twice and that seems odd. These two were the original MVP, not the 2 version. I'm thinking of just buying an MVP 2 and hope for better results, but am afraid I might break that one too. Help ! Thanks.

Hi there. Sorry to hear you are having problems. You may find the charging port is starting to wear out, much like the ports on a lot of cell phones(same charger can charge both a cell phone and the MVP). Have you tried a different or newer charger? Or maybe wiggling the cord when plugged in? Dunno if it will help but its worth a try. I guess I have been lucky because my original MVP is still going strong(knock on wood). However, upgrading to the MVP2 isn't a bad thing. And you would notice a world of difference in your vaping experience.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

:)

The MVP2 has been preforming very well. Check out the MVP Thread.

Try a different charger. I thought my MVP was bad but turns out the charging cord was bad. I don't use the supplied one it's way to short I just use an old cell phone charger.

I had the same problem with my MVP: a charger whose cable came loose from the USB plug. I use my cell phone or Android tablet charger for the MVP. No problem charging now.

If the suggestions from other folks don't help you, throw it away and buy an MVP V2.0. They fixed all the issues that the first version had. You got three months out of it, and they don't last forever. You might get 3 months out of the next one, or you might get two years...when you deal with non-replaceable batteries you just gotta toss the dice sometimes.

Gave up on the MVP after buying a wall charger and still it acted up. Left it hooked up to my laptop and three days later it started charging....it's now fully charged but who cares ! In the meantime I bought a VTR and, believe me, I will not be going back to the MVP ! I have found vaping heaven ! I love both the VTR and the iClear30s...amazing vapor and TH! I've been vaping for four years and this is the first time I've come across a complete rig that works for me. Don't know why the weight of the VTR is an issue, I can sense the difference but love it. It feels like what it is...the ultimate. You won't lose it, that's for sure, but it can easily be carried in a pocket...you'll know where it is ! The features are more than adequate and the look is sexy ! I didn't like the height of the iclear, so replaced the drip tip with my own and it now sits only a couple of inches from the box...a compact, solid, reliable, versatile vaping machine. I've only been using this for a couple of days and already my smoker friends are so curious about it, they are looking into getting one. I love having replaceable batteries. I no longer have to be close to a power source for the MVP's recharge. I can carry an extra 18650 and I'm off to the races for a good 16 hrs. ! And no issues with recharging. Sorry to glow on so much about this, but I'm so in love with it. Thank you to those of you who offered assistance with my MVP issues, especially sugar_and_spice !

You are welcome. I have heard that the original MPV's have an internal reset type of kind going on. Not sure, but iirc when the charge is totally gone, it does some internal checking and somehow resets things. Can't vouch for that personally, just passing on info I read somewhere.

I have a VTR also. And you are right....hits like a champ. But because of the weight I only use it at home. I still take the MPV's when I go out. Just easier for me. And I have provari's also. But they too stay at home. If I lose an mpv or it decides to grow legs, then I will be a little ticked but not near as much as I would be if the provari was broken, or gone.

Anyway, I am glad you are now enjoying your vaping heaven. What took you so long. j/k. LOL

:)

How does the Provari compare ? I've always been curious. I've often thought about going for it, but hesitated at the price. I can't imagine something better than the VTR....I'm guessing Provari delivers all at half the weight ? But at twice the investment...am I right ? I agree it would be a ruined night if it went missing....aaarrrgghh ! Took a long time to find a good fit for me 'cause I am so easily contented, but not necessarily happy...thought an average vape was normal but glad to be proven wrong ! Most of my pleasure with the VTR has been from the conversion it's generated from die-hard smokers to new vapers. Every friend influenced to switch feels like a friend I'll have for a little longer. Hey, thanks for the additional info. and for being cool....are you from England by any chance ?

I own both the vtr and the provari. VTR was my all day device until I got the provari. Yes the vtr can run sub ohm but there is no need for that off the provari. I use less liquid and get a better and more consistent vape with the provari. Flavor is about the same at first but as the battery drops on my vtr the vape weakens, not so on my provari. Yes it is a huge investment and the only regret I have is I didn't get it sooner. I could vape 100 ml in two weeks with the vtr but on the provari I have used 50 ml in a month. So over time imo the provari pays for itself. Just my two cents. Either way what works for you is what's best but don't be surprised if you replace the vtr in a year or less.
