I purchased a Zen Atty Pro to use with my Provari. I was a total nube when I ordered it about 1 1/2 months ago so when it arrived I didn't even attemp to use it until I got some vaping under my nose LOL. Well I finally gave it a go a couple of days ago. I watched the video by Zen and I followed all the pre juice loading steps. I loaded the juice and followed all the steps about dripping and burning the juice on the wick. When I was done and all coils were glowing I was ready for my 1st vape with this $150.00 device. I sat down as I anticipated being blown off my feet with a wonderful cloud of vapor. What I got was what felt like a mouth full of air. I turned the air hole to the right and then to the left. I adjusted the volts and the best I am able to get out of this thing is a very airy vape. I do get a good deal of vaper however the taste is very muted I guess because it is so airy. I can't imagine that anyone would spend this amount of money to get a vaping experience such as this. What should I be expecting from my ZAP and how do I reach those expectations. I feel as if I must be doing something wrong because this can not be as good as it gets. Please help this nube who now feels like a boob. LOL Thanks Stu

the muted taste is something to work on. people report better results using different wicks, but the zen wicks def take time to break in as they are super oxidized and need time to "burn in" so to speak.

the draw? well thats a zen atty, about as wide open as a genesis can get and cant be changed much. he talks in his videos about slowing down and learning to enjoy it. i like a tighter draw and tossed mine in the classies. but if your willing to keep trying know that different geni's will perform differently. one of the problems is finding the one that suites your vaping style.

get verified and put it in the classies if you do not want it. in nearly new condition it will sell for almost new price, and the little bit you lose can be seen as a trial and learning fee.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will fiddle with it a bit to seeif gets better for me. If not I am happy to know that it would not be a total loss.

I dont mind the draw on it at all... but it seems i can get the coils all glowing, then i stop and redo it and some dont glow... its not very consistent. but ive been burning the wick quite a bit with dripping juice on it because i read somewhere a new wick needs some breaking in... its not bad right now. but the laying down aspect really disapoints me :/

Having the same issue... Im disapointed right now, especially with the leaking aspect... Ud think there would be a rubber grommet that the wick would go through so you could lay it down... UGHHHH

You may want to make a permanent adjustment to never laying a PV on it's side. All my devices are stored standing upright regardless of the delivery device.

An open draw is a matter of taste. Personally I don't like it if a draw is too tight. So for me, the Zen Atty Pro is just lovely. It is worth noting I am a former pipe smoker, and so I am very used to a more open draw. I find I get plenty of flavor from my Zen Atty, you may just need to adjust to what your vape tastes like cool. Different devices give the same juice different character. You may find that you need to try a different juice. I vape a mini-Davide during the day when out and about, juices have a different profile depending on the device. My favorite juice likewise depends on the device.

The Zen Atty is a very well made Genesis, but like a watch, the $25 dollar one pretty much keeps time as well as the $3000 one. I love my Zen, but I consider it a luxury item. For a first time Genesis, I'd most likely recommend the AGA-T. That being said, I wouldn't give up my Zen.

Most Genesis style tanks need to be upright, just the nature of the beast.

I'll second Zen's advice: Slow down, take long, slow draws. You may find you come to love the airy, cool vape.

I love the draw of the zen atty, i just wish i could find a wick that fit in the hole tightly so i didnt have so much excess liquid drip into the top... other than that and a different flavor from the vapes its pretty nice

I just got the Z Atty U in today, after learning a lot on the RSST. I have got to say one thing, I hate Zen's Wicks... It would be an awesome device, if he included 500 mesh like I am used to. This one takes a while to wick, unlike 500... I have a funny feeling that if I were to put 500 in, that the flavor would be spot on, as I too have noticed a muted flavor. Throat hit is light, but compared to the RSST, where I just recently learned how to vape properly on it (I always took mouth hits, until I learned an effective way to take the vapor into my mouth, and then inhale.) To be honest, the air hole does not bother me as much as I feared. It is the friggin mesh he has on it. I use 80 pg 20 vg, Now, for a first timer, I strongly recommend the RSST. Cheap, durable, and it has its challenges that make you really, really good at building coils. I am going to have to get used to the 400 mesh, until I run out, or say screw it, and just roll very tightly my own 500.

Would it fully seal the hole for the wick? Thats really only my main concern.. Id like to be able to carry it around without worrying about tipping it and all the juice running out

Genesis style tanks in general need to be kept upright. It is the "cigar at the end of the day" vaping device. Not so good in the pocket. Buy a stand and you will be fine.

I've moved entirely to ceramic wicks. As about the cleanest vape you can get. They are fragile, but if you are careful a wick can last indefinitely. Just torch it to make it as good as new.

I do, however, agree - the RSST is probably the best Genesis tank for a first go-around. Cheap, but vapes like a monster. That being said, the build quality of the Zen is unparalleled.
