Hello rba fiends ;)

I bought this "phoenix dripper" rba, which I assume is some kind of clone since I got it for about $9. It works pretty well other than an occasional connection problem, which seems to vary randomly and is also more frequent depending on the battery I am using. Usually tightening it down harder or lifting the little battery contact plate helps. I assume what is happening is this little center post is not protruding far enough below the threads and it is barely making a connection. I have noticed some kind of oxidation forming at this connection, which I assume is due to a tiny amount of arcing since the connection is barely there.

If you are familiar with this type of atomizer, please let me know if there is any way to make this post stick out just a tiny bit more so I can maintain a good connection. Thanks.

If it is not adjustable, can you disassemble it?

If you can, then clean it up with a low grit sand paper ( to give it a good tactile surface ),
and then put a bead of solder on it. I'd even go so far as to put a hole in the end if you
have a micro drill bit for a dremel. This would give the solder a better anchor.

Thanks for the response. I'm pretty sure the lower part can't be taken apart. I tried unscrewing the coil posts, but they just turn around and around so I assume they are just pressed in or something.

I will try the solder idea, didn't think of that.

Ah, shoot, man. I'm sorry I didn't see this before. Almost all of the phoenix style rbas are built where that center post is actually the same piece as what is inside the bowl. Push down (from above and inside) on the positive post, or better yet, The Platform that the positive post is attached to.

here is a diagram. http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/help/phoenix/parts.jpg
