Need help with vapor production

So I've only been vaping for a few months abut I love it and have started trying to get the biggest clouds possible. I recently bought a king mod and apollo atty and built a .4 coil but for some reason I'm not getting the vapor i was expecting. I've followed all the advice I can find as far as wicking and lining up the air holes but I'm just not getting as much vapor as I feel I should. Any help would be appreciated!

VG based liquids, low ohm coils and a reasonable high voltage/wattage are some from the most important things to get a big vapor production.
don't have pictures right now because I'm out of town but it's 26g dual macro coils on mutation X atty, cotton wick, and king mechanical mod, and maximum velocity moon mountain juice (I think VG is like 90%)

My mech mods produce great vapor. My favorite builds are little bit lower though, usually .21 ohm. This works on a lot of RDAs (I have many), but I don't have an Apollo and am not familiar with that atomizer.

Here is my normal build though:
24 gauge, 6 wraps around 5/64. dual coils, centered on the center post. The cotton goes through the coil and clipped near the edge of the deck, then tucked down on either side, so there is an open space underneath the coils for airflow. The coils are exactly centered with the air holes, which are almost always wide open.

ETA: If I was cloud-chasing, though, I would build even lower, using an rda with huge post holes and massive airflow (like the dark horse). I won a cloud competition using a dual parallel 24-gauge build with that atty. Came out to .09 ohm.
