You would think my hubby would be happy I am am vaping and almost compleately off analogs! But he isn't! He doesn't think I should be doing any of it at all! I need help with somethings I can tell him about the liquid I am vaping ( he sees this as just as evil as analogs) Please Help it would be so nice to have his support through all this, and try as I might the things I say do not seem to convince him :( Perhaps I am wording it wrong Or he is just some alien that took over my husband's body who can no longer understand english?
The whole Men are from Mars thing Hehe. Anyways anything I could say that would help gain his support would be a huge help! Thanks guys:)

Does he smoke?

Blow analog smoke at him, then vapor, ask which he likes better :)

Is he aware of the chemicals present in ecigs and or analogs?

While there are over 4000+ chemicals in an analog, an ecig could have just 2, but typiclly a few more. The Nicotine, Either PG, VG, or both, and if you use flavor, whatever is in that.

A quick google with a list of 599 bad things in analogs is here The List of Additives in Cigarettes - Additives in Cigarettes

As no hard scientific studies have been done on ecigs I cant say with certainty that there is nothing bad in them.

I can say with some degree of certainty that analogs have far more bad things in them.

If the issue is which is safer, the math of whats in each should not be hard to compare 4000+ or 2-5 or so.

Good luck!

My main argument FOR vapeing and AGAINST smoking is the fact that cigarettes contain over 4000 chemicals, while vapor contains just PG or VG, nicotine, flavor, and water. Other than that, there's the facts of feeling better, smelling better, breathing better, etc., etc.

Being totally off cigs for going on 2 months now, I can tell you I am FEELING so much better that it is hard to believe. It HAS to be better for me - I had no idea I would feel so much better and how much the cigs were bringing my body down! And I was just a pack a day girl! My hubby is thrilled!

I think sometimes people who were able to kick it on their own can't really understand why we would need something to quit, but I think it is pretty obvious that some of us need this... and it works! :D Just going down to half a pack a day from 2 packs a day is huge! And I have no doubt eventually you will be off them altogether - then you won't stink at all! ;)

As no hard scientific studies have been done on ecigs I cant say with certainty that there is nothing bad in them.

Actually there have been studies done on the liquids. SE or NJOY did one as has Johnson Creek...there is another one but can't remember where it was posted. And the FDA tested SE and their results backfired. Even though the FDA claimed they found an ingredient that contained a carcinogen in the only cartridge they tested, as it ends up smoking ecigs is much safer. We don't even know if their results were done true to form since SE is suing the FDA. More independent lab studies need to be done...but the fact of the matter is I feel much better since I quit smoking and that's good enough for me.

Believe it or not people who don't smoke but live with smokes are known to have withdrawals as well. My dad is one of them. When my mom quit for a couple months he went through withdrawals from her not smoking and him not getting the 2nd hand smoke.
He is an ex smoker of like 30 years.
My dad also does not like the idea of the e-cig. He says they stink. He jumped on my mom this weekend for vapin peach and he didn't like the smell of it.

Anyway. It for sure might just be him wanting to control the situation. Could be him going threw withdrawals (if he is around you a lot while smoking). It could be jealousy. It could be "I did it so can you" mind set.

There is a ton of reasons. But the most important one is what you think. And what you want to do. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself and go from there. Just like I told my mom. Its your LIFE. Its your choice. Whether they back you or not. Just be strong and do what is best for you. Not him!

No he quit 2 years ago when he got really drunk and had a 3 day hangover ( but then he only smoked 3 to 5 a day :(
I wish I could say that I was compleately off analogs Im down from 2 packs a day to 1/2 a pack a day ( taking it slow because last time I had a NIC reaction ) SO yeah he still says I stink :(

I admit I haven't completely quit though I'm "using" 45 analogs fewer a day than I was. The thing I notice is that when I walk into a customer's office with non smokers I'm now getting asked if I quit. They tell me I don't smell like an ashtray any more. As a smoker I never knew I smelled that way. :D

I have to share this.. Now I haven't had a cigarette in 17 days. Yesterday I went to the local Dollar General in our town, and as I was checking a very strong ashtray smell hit me like a truck. Behind me came a very nice lady who smokes. I now totally understand why some people kinda back away from smokers. I want to hide my head now that I get what I have smelt like all these yrs. My poor friends and family.

Cimyss,
Just so you know you are not alone. A friend of mine who got her VK this past week shared it with her daughter who now also wants to get one. Well my friend's hubby (who quite several yrs ago) came down on the adult daughter about why she doesn’t just quit. Vaping isn’t stopping smoking you haven’t given up your addiction. He also then said the same thing to his wife, my friend. Let me tell you she gave him what for. I was told this by my friend as I was telling her about my hubby telling me “you haven’t stopped you are just doing something else and you are still addicted it still isn’t healthy for you. So for whatever reason some spouses seem to have problem with us quitting smoking. Go figure..

But take it from me and my friend, we don’t need anyone’s support if they don’t choose to give it. She and I are done smoking and we have each other and friends who will give us what we need, and if you want to be included in our group, we would love to have you. I am so happy of every single person here who has or who is working on stopping smoking. I am so very proud of all of us. :D

It's YOUR body. Period.

That said, have you tried other ways to quit sucking 1000's of toxic chemicals into your body? Were they successful?

This is WORKING for you. Tell him that you eventually hope to get it down to 0mg nicotine, it's just a different way to do it.

Either way, your are sucking in 1000's less in toxic chemicals and dozens less of carcinogens. That is better for YOU. Even if you continued vaping forever, at least he'd have you around, instead of dead from KNOWN complications from smoking tobacco. Not everyone can quit cold turkey. If they could, Big Pharma wouldn't be making billions in revenue from NRTs and Big Tobacco would be...well...LITTLE Tobacco.

What he thinks isn't as important as what you do to yourself and what you are doing now is worlds better than what you were doing before.

This is so true, I just wanted to bump it. There have been a lot of people using PV's for a long time, and lots of accounts of people feeling so much better than they did while smoking. While this is all anecdotal evidence, it has to count for something.

Actually, not just anecdotal either. I have read several threads where people were actually taken off their blood pressure meds and a few off their asthma meds since vaping. :D

Thanks guys! all of your advice helps me alot! Fiberweaver I truely appricate your offer, Thank you! Stoping smoking is one of the toughest things I have ever done! And honestly I didn't really aim too when I started this it has just been a side benifit that is happening anyways. I let my own motivation , My husbands goals for me, and others sucess' color my own goal and push me faster then I am ready to go! Your responses made me really think about that and what I truely want out of this, and I remebered some very good advise when I first started here ( Take your time, let it happen as it will, you don't have to push yourself) I think I just needed that reminder! 24 years is a long habit to break overnight and any sucess is still sucess! I should be celebrating that instead of trying to conform just because I can see others do it or, or because my husbands wants it! I think as well that the poster contest forced me into wanting it faster , While out there searching for pics I saw some very disturbing ones that make me wish I gave up yesterday or never even started smoking! After seeing that I do not feel like I am going fast enough ( I will not post it here because they were truely terrifying! )
Thank you all for your kind words and support!
