Any questions you have, just ask.

For $40 you can get the T-Rex at Liberty Flights. Comes with dual coil cartomizers but you'll need to purchase a wall charger.
That has a 900 mah battery . You get about 1 hour per 100 mah.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - MEGA T-Rex

Or there is the standard Riva for $29.99. Comes with two batteries, 2 atomizers, cartridges, charger. Purchase cartomizers separately.

With the ego battery you have several options-

Cartomizer & battery - the cartomizer is a cartridge and atomizer combined. You attach this to your battery. You get a good vape with this and it's very easy. The downside is, that when your new, once you fill the cartomizer with juice your committed to vaping over 1 ml of that flavor.

Cartridge, atomizer and battery. The plasic cartridge holds juice and you place it on the atomizer. This gets placed on your battery. Cartridge doesn't hold as much juice as a cartomizer but can be cleaned and reused. Messier and sometimes leaks.

Tanks (ego-T) Small tanks filled with juice, placed on the ego-T atomzier and placed on your battery. Easy to use and you can tell when you need to refill. Can be reused. Downside, vape is muted somewhat and they sometimes leak or get dry hits. Issues with the Wick.

Dripping- Drip juice directly onto the atomizer.

There are also CE2's, dual coil cartomizers, etc. etc. Very versatile pv.

Thanks swedishfish... I'm going to go with the carto. Is the T-Rex the eGo-T with the tank or just the eGo? Would you recommend the dual coil carto? Why?

I want primarily tobacco, but want to try some other flavors as well.

Also, the site says a typical cartridge lasts 3-5 cigarettes. Does it mean 3-5 packs of cigarettes?

Looks like the T rex kit from Liberty flights comes in two versions, the regular kit with cartridges and atomizer or the Carto kit with cartomizers. I would get the 900 mAH carto kit with the cartomizers. Much easier to use and you can fill them with the e juice of your choice. I would ask them to include the 510 2.0 Ohm cartomizers instead of the 1.5 ohm dual coils. There have been some issues with 1.5 LR cartos messing up the electronic switches in ego type batteries. I had two KGO batts go bad and I think this was the problem. There are several videos on the board showing how to refill and maintain these cartomizers. Later you can think about upgrading to a CE2 cartomizer. I would stay away from the EGO tank systems (leaky, poor wicking). You will also want to order some extra carto's two will not be enough. With proper care and cleaning (never let it run dry) a carto can be cleaned and refilled several times.

Heyas Breathe,

Speaking of liberty flights, they also have their riva 510 carto deluxe kits in stock again. $35 gets you 2 rivas, 5 lr cartos, charger and whatnot, and a carrying case. I haven't tried the riva myself (I use an ego), but many ppl here speak very highly of it, and that's a steal of a price to include a carrying case.

I have a few Rivas. They're nice, last pretty much all day, nice warm hit with lots of vapor on just about every carto I've tried. The LF kit is a good deal.

Breathe, a carto - pre-filled or filled once - will last the equivalent of several cigarettes. If you keep the carto topped off, by pulling the rubber plug out of the top (mouth) end and dripping several drops of juice into the filler when it starts to get dry, a carto can keep working well for several days. If you don't keep it topped off and it gets dry and scorched, it's toast. If it just starts not working well after a few days, some people toss 'em and some clean them and get a few re-uses.

If you're feeling adventurous, I like the Fluxomizers and Vortexes (Vortices?) from gotvapes. Clear plastic tubes so you know how much juice is in them. But Fluxo's are a pain to fill (and need minor modding to work really well), and Vortex's get mixed reviews, so you might want to hold off until you're comfortable with your basic kit.

I forget who mentioned it before in this thread, but Alien Visions Chai really does rock.
