So, my wife has started vaping CBD (Koi brand coming) for her pain and she would like something really nice and compact (mod and device) that can hold her CBD vape juice - separate from her regular vaping mod (Falcon tank) and device (Sigelei 150w). I’m thinking more along the lines of a starter kit type of thing. The CBD juice is really expensive ($100/30ml) and she only needs a hit or two of it a few times a day to help with her pain and inflammation. The goal here is not about giant clouds or even wonderful flavor; it’s about efficient delivery of medicine and portability - to make sure she has it available wherever she goes. So, having something nice and small, that she can drop in her purse and that won’t leak would be great.

FWIW - We’ve been vaping for 5 years and are pretty experienced. I cloud chase on occasion and like my rebuildables from time to time. But we don’t keep up with the latest and greatest and it’s been a long time since we looked at starter kits and similar products. I worry about putting this expensive juice into a large tank in case it should leak (like in her purse) and the dual 18650 mods we normally prefer are just too big if she’s going to be carrying 2 devices. There isn’t any quality CBD juice available locally so this stuff is pretty precious to her. Especially since we don’t live in a cannabis friendly state so she can’t get any real ‘medicine.’

I was looking at a SMOK Priv M17 and I thought that might work but then I realized it had ZERO adjustability to the mod. That kinda worried me. Besides, it doesn’t use our preferred 18650’s. So, before I try one for her, I thought I’d ask for some recommendations from y’all. Whatchya got??

Hola,
FCombustion is a better forum for your inquiry.
IMO, select a product you/she can use sublingualy.

Best of luck

Small devices, depends how small you want to go but the smallest dual 18650 i can think are tesla wye, vaptio captn, eleaf invoke but i know nothing about those other than they are small.

Single 18650 however, theres the solid performer pico by eleaf, vaporesso armour pro, uwell nunchacku and many many others.
For the tanks that come with i cant say much since i dont own any of those mods, but a bit googling about good tanks takes you far :)

I own a Vaporesso Swag kit. Sold little single battery mod – very well built. The mod and tank are not much bigger than a 30ml dropper bottle. The 22mm NRG Mini tank will hold approx. 3ml of juice and comes with 2 coils – the usual drop in single coil and a Ceramic cCell coil which maybe of interest. The cCell’s are very efficient for they work on about half the wattage of the usual subohm coils. They are also easier to clean and I find longevity to be great…..better than most. But whats great about the NRG Mini tank is that it will accept any Smok TFV8 Baby type coils. There is about 20 different manufactures that offer a compatible coil. In the event you do need a replacement, finding something that is compatible will not be difficult at all.

At the price of your wife’s medical juice, you may want to avoid the big gas guzzlers such as the Falcon Mesh.

Thats exactly the kind of thing I wanted to hear! Thanks! I’ll check them out. Dual 18650 would be too big, for sure. I just like the idea of being able to replace a battery when needed and not have to charge the device, if she needs her medicine and the mod was low. Also, being able to use lots of coils would be really handy.

Thanks again!

Googling takes you to 1,648,895 products that’s pretty overwhelming. That’s sorta the point of ECF - get a filtered and informed result that’s about a million times more productive than Google. AND...ECF doesn’t track me and try to sell me targeted adds and invade my privacy or ‘harvest’ my data.

The sublingual delivery doesn’t work as well for her. She was discussing with her pain doctor and she said lots of her patients have had better relief from vaping than from sublingual. Although, I think the sublingual effects would last longer. Thanks for the tip on FCombustion, I’ll check them out. ECF has been my go-to forum for years on all things vape-related. So, I never considered looking at another forum. This business about ECF not being friendly and supportive to ALL vape products or discussion will have me re-thinking my long-standing allegiance.

Still considered drug talk on this forum. Kinda like how the FDA considers 0 nic e-liquid a tobacco product. ;)

The LEGAL product you spoke of is NOT LEGAL in my state.
It has been legal in ohio for two years now, as long as you have a medical card for it. They are working on a recreational thing right now.

There are some legitimate reasons for not allowing it on ECF. I'll go see if I can find and grab the link to the explanation for it.

Rules are rules but that’s extremely disappointing. I have long supported ECF because I believed they supported ALL vapers and all vape products. Even when folks support aspects that I, personally, disagree with (like labeling that appeals to kids) I support all vaping; because segmenting the community divides us. But, if that’s the stance ECF takes then I’ll have to re-think my support.

Thanks for the heads-up Baditude. You’ve ALWAYS been a great help and you kept me from blowing my fingers off years ago. Lol! I know you’re only trying to help. Here’s an interesting article for ya: https://cbdorigin.com/is-cbd-legal/
Not sure if the link will work for ya but my understanding is that hemp derived products ARE legal and available in all 50 states; although there’s certainly plenty of grey areas. Might be harder to find in a few, than others; but still legal and available.

I’m not a soapbox guy but watching this country get ravaged by the opioid epedemic and my wife trying to deal with severe pain while trying to limit her opioid intake it makes me LIVID seeing unnecessary and arbitrary constraints being put on those seeking alternative and legal treatment. Vaping is illegal in some places. So, should we stop talking about vaping? I just caught my 16 year old son who’s always complained about smoking and vaping with a vape pen and high nic juice. When we asked him why he said, “because it tastes like candy and the bottles are cool and all my friends are using it.” This is PRECISELY why the anti-vaping coalition wants all the regulation and restrictions that so many people say are BS. Yet I still support the vaping community/industry in its fight against regulation. But ECF won’t show the same broad support? THAT’S the most dissapointing and concerning thing I’ve read in a long time.

I actually just add it to my dripper a couple times a day mixed with whatever I happen to be vaping.

Why we don't allow drug talk

Hey, I agree 100%! I’m straight-edge. I’ve been sober for 28 years and counting. I’m a retired hero/n addict and as anti-drug as any person can be. My assertion, though, is that what I mentioned is NOT a drug. So, how can it be “drug talk” when there’s no drug involved and no substance that causes intoxication involved?

I don’t want to derail my own thread but I’m finding this very disturbing. It’s like talking to some redneck Baptist preacher about vaping 0mg juice and being told you’re engaging in drug talk. Lol.

Honestly for juice that expensive I wouldn't use SMOK brand anything. They make low cost, mass produced products and don't have the greatest track record for quality, reliability, or customer service. I am NOT saying they are all bad, but their coils are notorious for bad QC and I would hate to imagine $100/30ml juice leaking all over the place due to a bad coil. If you were asking for juice you DIY for pennies per ml, then I'd say go for it.

Really for the atomizer, I would suggest a single coil dripper of some sort. Even a cheap clone of something like a Hadaly or Entheon would be fine. With a dripper though, you don't have to fill it, just drip in a few drops take a few puffs and put it away with no real worry about leaking. I suggest single coil to reduce the juice consumption and reduce the amount of wick that will have to be saturated. As far as tanks go, some may be better than others, but if ambient air pressure or temp changes too much any tank CAN leak. You also have concerns if the glass breaks or a seal fails, you could end up with lost juice. So yeah, if it were me, that juice would be RDA only.

For a mod, really anything would work. Heck you wouldn't even really need a new mod. You could just carry the dripper around in an old pill bottle and put it on whatever mod you are using at the time (make sure to adjust the wattage) take a couple of puffs and swap back to the usual tank. If you really want a second device, maybe the iStick Pico would work. It is a small 18650 mod that many people seem to like and would accommodate either of the above mentioned drippers.

@BrushyHillGuide - Not to ruffle your feathers any further, but more as a heads-up to you: I just went to 2 different vaping related websites that have for at least the last 5-6 months...carried what your wife uses. I wanted to see what they possibly had as far as a small starter type kit, or mod & tank that your wife might want to consider. Found out that both have pulled every liquid product of that type off of their websites. Reason from both was - their Merchant Services Provider refused to allow them to continue using their servcies if those products were available on their websites and therefore could possibly be included in any purchases made online through them. They said that policy is spreading like wildfire now.

So, hopefully you have a local source for what she needs and won't have to shop online for it going forward.

Does she rebuild? Since I found the Billet Box I'm perfectly happy. She can use either Kanger OCC coils, Nautilus coils or rebuildables. There are plenty of clones to build on, or the Kanger RBA, and it's all in one box.
The SXK clone comes with a DNA 60, and it's not that expensive as the original. It's simple and easy to build and vape!

That doesn’t ‘ruffle my feathers,’ lol! Nobody has ruffled anything except ECF. Fellow members informing me is greatly appreciated. Y’all have nothing to do with the policy. So, I apologize to you, Baditude and anyone else that thinks I’m angry with any member - I did not mean to come off as harsh towards anyone.

I purchase her juice online and there are still numerous online sources but I am aware of the collusion of the payment processors with outside groups to attemp to squash various products. Fortunately, within the medicinal market there are other payment methods through alternative processors that actually support canna and alternative medicine. It’s just another hoop but protects the industry. Venmo, Zelle and Cryptocurrencies to name a few. But, even in the conservative state of Texas and our ultra-conservative rural county we have vape shops and head shops that sell a vast array of canna products. What’s harder to find locally is separate e-juice. Usually it’s contained in these closed cartridges with a 510 connection and a fixed drip tip. It’s widely available through smoke shop websites located in Colorado, Oregon and California. It’s the online vape juice supply houses that have folded under pressure. I get it, though; because they’re under pressure from many fronts.

The big tobacco companies, who have lots of interest in the mainstream vape market AND in the growing canna market that are in collusion with the card processing companies. These companies have trademarked all the old traditional names like “Maui Wowie” and have all sorts of preparations in place to jump into the marketplace as soon as the legal winds are favorable enough. Just like they’re behind the pressure to make vaping the sole business of corporate America and to drive every small business out of business.

Thanks so much! She doesn’t rebuild and when I asked her if she’d use a dripper for her medicine, she said, “no.” Lol! But, we have some OCC coils laying around from an old Kanger tank. This might be a good option for her, though. I’ll take a look again. Thanks!
