Hello everyone! I've been lurking around this forum for a while now and decided to finally just ask some questions. I started vaping about 2 months ago and loved it and decided I wanted to stick with it. Then wasn't satisfied anymore which seems to happen to alot of people. So after researching ALOT I decided to step up to a Joye 510 and that also only satisfied me for a couple of weeks. SO I researched more and ordered a Maxi roughstack because I wanted to try out 6 volts since from what I read sounded alot more satisfying. And so far I'm really enjoying it BUT now ive ran into the whole carto vs atty vs tank ect. I did order some Boge lr and 3.0 ohm cartos about a week ago and liked the way they vape but the lr are now feeling very "weak" for some reason. So, after reseaching until my head can't hold anymore info and feels like it's going to pop, what would you guys recommend that I try? It seems that I need good throat hit and vapor to keep me going. I have 4 kids so I don't have the cash flow to try alot of diff things like I'd like to so any recommendation/advice would be very appreciated! And sorry for such a long post. Just wanted to share some of my experience with everyone seeing as how I've read alot of other ppls.

For a true 3.7V device (not proprietary batteries): dual coil cartomizers, Ikenvape.com, and Boge. However, I'm not a fan of the clear dual coils, not because of the vape (they vape the same) but because the tubes always crack on me.

Also they make a triple coil cartomizer for voltages over 5V. I won't try these because I don't go over 5V so I can't comment on them. From some of the reviews, they seem to be the bee's knees when it comes to high voltage.

Welcome Blight to the wonderful world of vaping. An important thing about attys is that they do need regular maintenance cleaning. Atys can become clogged and need to be cleaned. I clean mine weekly with near boiled water soaks. How often generally can be affected by type of liquid and how often used. I go through about 10ml a day so as you can imagine I need to clean mine often. I also find that low res attys aren't designed to be "long term" attys. They burn hotter than other standard res attys, so they can lose their "umph" faster and burn out. You may need to look into maybe a higher volt battery option. I love my 6v box mod with a standard 510 atty on it. This brings on the feel of a low res attys tries to imitate. Gives you that hit you are craving.

I am also a carto lover and used them for a long time before I went to the box mod and to 510 tanks. I reuse mine till they are dead and use a power flush cleaning method on them, but I use ceramic ones and not polyfill.

One thing that got me bad at first was being satisfied. I actually had to increase my nic level a little bit.

Dabble around as much as you can. What may please one person may not work for others. You got to find your "niche" and what works for you. Once you do, you will hold tight to it and be a happy camper. Or like myself, I have a few favorites I switch back and forth from. I love my tanks but I love dripping on my 6v very much.

Good luck and happy vaping

I have the standard Rough Stack running a 3.7 volt battery, and I can tell you the Boge 2.0 ohm cartos work great with it. If you are running at 6 volts, it might be better to use a higher resistance carto. Perhaps 3.5 or 4.0 if they make such a thing.

For the first 7 or 8 months of my vaping experience, I was adamant about using attys on my Egos. I finally broke down and tried a pack of Genuine Joye cartos and have not gone back to attys. Just so much less refilling and more flavor and vapor.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. That's why I asked in this forum. Everyone here seems so nice, polite, and willing to share their experiences. I've thought about trying the dual coils just not certain where I want to order them from if anyone has suggestions. I've also looked at the gotvapes fat wick fluxomizers but fluxomizers seem to have alot of mixed reviews about them. As for the boge lr cartos I went 5 of them in about a week while the 3 ohm ones that I got at the same time are still going strong. I know since they're lr they'll burn up quicker but they just seemed to fall off really quick.

I'll have to look into the sapphires. Also I have a couple more questions. What do you guys think about Ikenvape atty's and do they sell cartos that'll work good with 6 volts? And I have a few standard resistance joye atty's and they will work on my maxi roughstack with a 18650 batt at 3.7v but not with the cr123 at 6v. Does anybody know why this would happen because everything I've read said standard res should work on both? Thank you all again for taking time outta your day to help me out with all of this.

I have the same experience with cartos. Oh, I want to love them. I believe I can 'taste' the filler and it causes a tickle in my throat that makes me cough. The only ones I haven't tried are the triple coil. I don't want to ruin my mod batteries with them and they put a lot of strain on them from what I've read. Also you need to be vaping at 6v. That can wreck a juice flavor quickly, especially when you're getting the hang of it all.

Things change but for the last month or so I've been in vaping nirvana with a 1.5 LR 306 atty vaping at 3.7v on mods. They're still going strong with no laborious cleaning rituals. Rinse in hot water, blow it out and dry the connector when you want to change juice or clean. Ecigsupply is having a sale 5 LR 306 attys + 5 drip tips for $29.95. Best 306 drip tips I've tried. They fit all the way over the atty and you leak far less, the plastic is thick, delrin I guess it's called. I've tried the cannons, XLs etc. We're all different but you and I have the cartomizer issue in common. There's a new hybrid 510/306 atty. I'm seeing many raves and at the same time, people selling them because they're running too hot. I'm not going to be an early adopter on those but would like to try them later. You'll figure it out. You have a great mod. Good luck.

Thanks for advice Boodle. I went ahead and order a couple 1.7 lr 306 atty's, 4.0 HV 510 atty's, and a few different Smoktech 510 dual coil cartos just to try them all out. I also order so DIY juices and stuff to try that out. Oh and ty for the calculator Sub I had a hard time understanding how to do all the math without that lol. So thanks for the generosity and suggestions everyone and I'll update when I get this all in and give it a shot. Maybe one of these will get me back on the right track.
