I just smoked my first e-cig and really enjoyed it. But, it's a disposable unit sold by a local shop here in Denver.

So what's the best kit to start with? tanks look good, but I read some bad reviews of them. I just want something that is fairly inexpensive and easy to use. Not messy and drippy.

I would appreciate it if any of you would recommend a good inexpensive kit to start with, and a good place to procure it. I would also appreicate recommendations on good places to buy the juice and other parts I may need.

Thank you in advance.

I started with the Smokeless Image Volt system. The good is that the batteries and carto's lasted me about a day for a charge, and each carto lasted about a day. They are clean, self contained systems, and look like regular cigarettes, for the most part. For me, it was cheap enough, and easy enough, to take me away from "analogs." Was thinking I had some cons.. but I don't. Edited to add: I was a pack a day smoker. Currently, 1 cartomizer will no longer last me a full day.

6 months later, I'm now using liquid , and clearo's from Smokeless Image, with the same batteries. Although, I plan to get a new battery.

This is just my experience. Hope other people will post and lead you to what works best for you.

Hey tada, I'm not a veteran of experience here I actually just made my first purchase over at smokeless image but I read a LOT of reviews and for starter kits their volt e-cigs seem to be top notch so you may want to check them out, as far as tanks and such go I stopped my head spinning research at just getting myself started and after I get my stuff I'll be lookin into bigger stuffs :p

How much do you smoke now? If you smoke a pack or less a day, you can get by starting out with something like a Volt from Smokelessimage.com

The rule of thumb is: "The more it looks like a cigarette, the worse it performs". The Volt is the best of an otherwise pretty sad lot of mini-cigarette looking e-cigs. But some people just have to start with something that looks like a cigarette. IF that's you, then you can't really do much better than the Volt or a small handful of similar e-cigs including the Bloog, Halo G6 and Smoove. The Volt and the Bloog are probably the best two to start with. Bloog has a link in the vendor forum here.

One thing to remember about these mini-ecigs is to make sure you get enough batteries. You need a bare minimum of two. Three is better. If one dies, you don't want to be stuck with one battery. Over time, any battery starts lasting for shorter and shorter times, so even if 2 is enough now, it may not be in a few months or so. You can NEVER have too many batteries.

If you can skip this mini-ecig intitiation rite, or if you smoke more than a pack or so a day, the best thing is to go to a mid-sized e-cig like a kGo. A kit is less than $50 and includes two large capacity batteries, each of which will last you most of a day. They come with everything you need except juice. They'll also accept any of the cartomizers (cartridges) made for a 510 device, which means you won't be stuck with having to buy all your stuff from one place. In the long run, it means you'll also save a ton of money.

Here is a link to the kGo from a good, reliable vendor. KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

If you look around here, you'll see lots of newbies who are delighted with their kGos. A lot of them "graduated" from a mini-cigarette looking thing and the difference is amazing. They are only the size of a Sharpie marker or small cigar, although they look bigger in the pictures. The kGo probably the most popular e-cig for people to start with if they don't want the hassle of constantly charging and switching batteries.

what is going to be the best fit for you really depends on personal preferance. i would say a good way to go for no fuss no muss starting is an ego or kgo kit with a few low resistance atomisers thrown in. low res gives more vapor on a low voltage kit like the cheap ones you start out with and i believe both starter kits come with a drip shield so your atomiser wont be leaking all over. i hope this has helped!

I second the EGO or KGO suggestion. If you smoke habitually, and not just once in a while, this would be a good starting point. The cig look-a-likes honestly don't perform all that well. Some of them are alright, and would certainly get you off cigs if you really wanted to. But after a while, the short battery life will get to you. Mine did. A great many vapors who start out with these sorts of devices end up switching to the EGO style device. If you can skip that first step, you'll save a lot of money. In my opinion, I've never seen an ecig that looks like drug parephenelia. Those items are very specific looking and are most certainly not electronic (except for one thing that comes to mind....but that particular thing looks nothing like an ecig).

For your desire to stay simple, I really just recommend cartos. Easy to fill, easy to use, and no mess (unless you're clumsy :p). If you end up with a cig look alike device, just get the standard cartos, if you end up with an EGO like device, try duel coil or low resistance cartos.

Sounds like Smokeless Image/Volt to me. They're very affordable (even for me, who's been unemployed since January - add 3 years if you count the time I took off work to take care of Dad), dependable, and mindlessly easy to use. All of their stuff is compatible with each other. They carry pen-style batts that I've been happily using since last July (2nd gen batts that are nothing like the 1st gen ones that most people refer to), they now have a fat batt that seems to be getting rave reviews on their subforum, clearomizers that don't drip, and they come up with new tech all the time. Plus, 30-day money-back guarantee, 3-month warranty on hardware, and great customer service.

Agreed! This is the most logical step, money wise and options. The ego will allow you to grow with it, learn and give you the most bang for your buck. Also the vape time is decent depending in batt and how much your tootin'! Questions are good but read read research and read...then jump...lol

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | I'd definitely say try there. Was my first kit. Their standard batteries were great, got me off analogs and are very good products. They also offer the X2 batteries with clearomizers which I absolutely love. I bought an Apollo Vtube with the 6ml tank just days before the X2. I love both, but I use the X2 almost all day for every occasion. Great portability, no leaks, long battery life (got mine in the 900mah size) and an all around great vape. The clearo's are the easiest thing I've filled. Just tip the bottle on the side of the mouth and squeeze. Works great. Really good products and great customer service. Don't think you'd go wrong with smokeless image.

Hi
My first e-cigs were those little look alike things. With out being specific, you wanted inexpensive and easy. I'm on a very limited budget and regret the money spent on those but don't regret that they sent me on a quest for something better and found this forum.
I'm now 2 months smoke free, have a kgo and a ego PT ( for chain vaping while sitting in front of this computer).
Promised myself a reward at the 6 month mark, maybe a vv or maybe just a pretty trippy tip:p
Welcome to ECF and good luck
