Not sure if this is in the right forum, so please relocate it as necessary. I switched from the stinkies to vaping several years ago and have not looked back. I have been using Joyetech Ego-C 1000mah batteries, Kanger EVOD BCC cartomizers 2.2ohm, and Kanger MT32 coils.

Please note, as you can no doubt tell :) this is not a hobby for me, and I'm not at all interested in cloud chasing, rebuilding, mods, sub-ohm, etc. All I need and want is a basic, simple and efficient nicotine delivery system, and what I'm using has done me well for a long time.

Trouble is, as time goes on, it's getting harder and harder to find replacement parts and supplies for this somewhat old technology. I need to modernize, but am overwhelmed by the abundance of different options and choices out there. I come away from searches with my brain feeling like scrambled eggs haha. So I'm turning to the good ol' ECF for help.

Can anyone recommend a modern version of what I'm using currently, or at least as close to it as possible? Thanks very much!

I'm not as well-versed regarding pod-systems as many here, but off the top-of-my-head, I think something like the Geekvape Wenax M1 would be up your alley:

The M1 is the smallest Wenax to date and comes in the form of a vape pen—or, according to Geekvape, the shape of a cigar. It takes 2 mL replaceable pods available in two resistances, and the battery is rated at 800 mAh and charges through Type-C.

There are no buttons or airflow adjustments here, it’s a purely auto-draw device and one of the most straightforward refillable vapes on the market. If you are a beginner vaper, I can already tell you that it ticks most of the boxes. But keep reading to find out more.
EDIT: If you end up liking the Wenax M1, and are in the states, VapeSourcing's USA warehouse has it for $15.99 + shipping... Use coupon code GWM1K for an additional $5.50 off (which damn near covers the shipping cost).... :)

Hi and welcome back!
Have a look at this review by member @hittman

The coil selection, air flow control, top filling, button or draw activation and lightening fast charging all come together in a great little package at a very reasonable price. IMO.
My wife uses 10mg/ml freebase in her G2, salt nicotine can also be used, of course..

Good to see you still vaping! Hope this helps.
Cheers

I hate pods !! No matter how well they are made, they all just end up being more litter on the sidewalk.

So ... I would look to an Innokin zlide tank

You should get some advice from your local vape store; they should be able to suggest good/easy starter kits to choose from.
I'd be cautious there. Some local shops are great, but too many are only familiar with the latest SMOK cloud chasing setups and will steer you in that direction out of ignorance. For what it's worth, SMOK is a well-marketed brand with, I understand, some nice tanks, but its mods are not known for their quality.

I'm not wild about pods, personally, but they certainly work for some people. My recommendation would be the Innokin Zlide @tj99959 mentioned. It seems to be the most popular drop-in coil MTL tank at the moment (and for the last fair bit). Any mod should do be able to do what you need - you'll probably want to run it in wattage mode at a low setting, so you don't need to worry about TC and fancy chipsets or anything like that. I'd focus on the physical aspects: would you feel comfortable holding and using it? Innokin's a decent brand with several options for mods, so you should be able to pick up a kit with tank and mod if you decide on the Zlide.

This is true. Not suggesting buying the first thing from a vape store; just listen to what they hearing, then do a bit of research on what was talked about. Easier to make a decision that way.

If you still want some of the above, or very similar to it, I can likely be of help to you....while you check out, read reviews on, and compare and consider various other newer set-ups. Just send me a PM {private message}.

Just got one. Can anyone recommend where/how do I work out the best compatible liquids for this remarkable bit of kit? Be gentle with me - Low threshold of sarcasm. (It's an age thing, lol).

Any juice should work fine with that setup. What kinds of liquids do you have now? Have you tried those in that Innokin tank?

Honestly it comes down to trial and error with juices. No one can tell you what flavors would be the best for your tastes.

I would consider purchasing a couple liquids whose flavor profiles you might like. Try them and see what you think. For some folks finding a few favorite liquids can take time.

Sorry guys... that was a bit of an obtuse question. Apologies to you vets. It is the vagaries of pg/vg %'s and coil compatibilities that are throwing me. I am simply looking to use NET tobaccos in an MTL (not DTL) mod but, just when I thought that I had got a fairly lucid grasp of things. the rabbit hole that is YouTube complicated things and the available coil variations of this mod are making me think that I should have learned to ride a scooter before I bought a Harley? Hey Ho!

LOL. A scooter? Leave the scooter to someone else. Just hop on the Harley and off you go.

Here is the Innokin Coil Chart for the Zlide Z-Coils (previously Zenith coils).

    z-coils-2-3.jpg

The first 5 coils are recommended for MTL. Have a look at recommended power. Choose the wattage range that suits you best.

    Which one suits you best?

Experience the quality MTL and choose the one that suits you best with the entire Z Coil line below:
    • 0.48Ω Plex3D / 0.5Ω Plexus Z Coil
    • Superior flavor and longevity
    • 0.8Ω Kanthal Coil
    • Warmer vape requiring more wattage
    • 1.2Ω Kanthal Coil
    • Enhanced coil design for improved flavor
    • 1.6Ω Kanthal Coil
    • Perfect for use with salt nicotine eliquids
    • 1.0Ω Kanthal Coil
    • Designed for restricted direct lung vaping or warm mouth to lung

All the above is from this link (which has more info).

As others have recommended 'pod mods' might be a close fit. Some/many are refillable, charge quickly and have fairly ok coil selection.

Personally my one and only pod-mod is a Freebase 'Onnix'. It charges quickly with the included cord, ~3ml juice capacity, small & light and is good for a few hours of vaping.

However for longer term use I'd recommend steering clear of the 'internal battery' mods. (batteries can only be recharged 300-600 times) I'd also steer clear of anything with factory coils. Just like your running into, good luck finding them after they have been on the market a while.

One of my favorite 'toodle puffing' rigs is a Eleaf 'Pico'. Single 18650 which when used at ~10-20W will last a full 5ml (or more) tank full. Add to it a Kayfun v5 single coil tank.

The Pico can be had <=$30-40 direct from Eleaf in the US and a v5 clone can be had on Chinese sites for ~$15-30.

With this kind of rig, when the battery wears out - simply replace it. Ditto with the coil. While saving time/money in the process.
