Hi everyone,

I've been vaping on and off since last December, was still smoking.
Recently I bought a new cuboid and am committed to getting off cigarettes.
Haven't smoked in like 3 days now.
The issue is I am getting dizzy and having headaches. I alternate between 6 and 3 mgs of nicotine and throw in a few drops of 12 at times.

I'm unsure what nicotine level is right for me. Could these symptoms be related to not enough nicotine?
I was smoking Virginia slims regular for years. About 1/2 to pack a day but taking a few drags then tossing it out.

Any suggestions I'd appreciate it. How do I know how much nicotine works for me? I tried 24 nicotine last year and that was too much, then 18 and that was too much.

I'm still seeking the throat hit too.

Thanks

Welcome to ECF @Dhon!

Your gear will have a lot to do with us understanding how to help you. Dizziness can be a sign of too much nicotine (although could be other causes). Are you chain-vaping perhaps, or at least vaping more than you used to smoke? A lot at once can cause dizziness or nausea, like any stimulant (such as caffeine).

Tell us more about your setup! :)

I'm thinking it's too much nicotine as you are getting headaches and dizziness. What wattage are you camping at? What is the PG/VG ratio? Try upping the PG for more throat hit. Also, you might want to use some menthol, citrus or cinnamon like flavors to boost up the throat hit a little.

with subohm'ing the forum suggests no higher than 6mg of nicotine.

If you're looking for a bigger throat hit you have several options

1. up the nicotine content (but since you're experiencing dizziness you probably shouldn't as 6mg is plenty, I've been a smoker for 17 years a pack of parliament lights a day and I settled at 6mg for sub ohm, might go lower in the future to 3mg).

2. increase PG content of your ejuice...I tend to prefer 50/50 or 40/60 PG/VG

3. try a menthol flavored ejuice. I notice a bigger throat hit with menthol juices...but I get a sore throat the next morning...I prefer non menthol ejuice.

Déjà vu: too much nic me thinks.

Do you vape the way you smoked? Two or three pulls and then nothing for another 2 hours?
Tell us how you have the Cuboid set. Resistance/coil/watts/temperature?

Good luck

+1. There are other potential causes, but that sounds like too much nic rather than not enough. Can you tell us what tank you're using, and your power setting? For subohm, 6mg is about the most I recommend, but 12 is perfectly ok for low watts and mouth to lung vaping. It can also be you're hitting your mod very hard to stave off the cravings; most new vapers do that. One potential solution is to run two tanks, one high nic and the other low nic. Vape the low nic generally, but when the cravings get bad, pop on the high nic tank and beat them back. Oh yes, and you're probably dehydrated. Drink more water.

A bit more info, please. We'll get you straightened out.

When I first started vaping I went with 24 and was always dizzy, went down to 18 within a week and less dizzy. settled in at 12 for over a year.
I got my throat hit from cinnamon vapes and bold RY4's. After a year or so I no longer ached for throat hit.
12 mg would be a good place to sit at IMO because I think one tends to chain vape A LOT at first

Thank you to everyone that responded, very helpful for me. Not sure even how to post on here but I'll try.

Not sure what sub ohm means but I'll try to elaborate:

200 watts
And I vape on a setting between 20-26.

Pg by ratio is this:
Pg- 20 or 30
Vg- 70 or 80

I may very well be vaping too much. When I smoked cigarettes, I took about 3-5 drags then put it out. And I then lit up again in like an hour or two and did the same thing with the cigarette.

I may be vaping too much. Trying to get the nicotine hit possibly as I feel a little shaky from not smoking cigarettes. Been smoking for like 30 years I guess. Virginia slims regular.

This morning I did a test and put in 0 nicotine and took some drags and felt my heart race a little.

I know when I smoked cigarettes, I would take a drag or few drags and feel satisfied of the shot of nicotine.

Does this explain a little more and how I should proceed?

Thanks everyone

Cuboid 150W
Where do I find the power setting on this? Sorry, not that familiar with it as they set me up and my co worker helped me. It's on 200W as it was too hot. And I vape between 20-26, around there.

Thanks

Firstly, hi and welcome!

What do you mean exactly by "a few drops of 12 at times", you add several drops of 12 mg into your juice, or atomizer?

Also, what's your gear setup, sub-ohm?

:vapor:

What does sub ohm mean?

Oh, I added a few drops into the juice of 12 nic mixed in case I was craving the nicotine. Seems like the consensus of the dizziness and headache are too much nicotine.

I drink tons of water all day as its the only thing I drink.

Thanks

Sub ohm means you use a coil that reads out as being below 1 ohm of resistance on an ohm meter. Your .54 coil is that, sub ohm. I would follow suggestions here if I had the problems you're stating. The people here seem fairly knowledgeable from experience. I myself consistently use 1.8 mg of nicotine per 1 ml of juice, in tanks, in drippers. I can do this due to my body chemistry being fouled up from a congenital disorder.

I do not suggest you follow my lead in this case. You will probably find that .6 mg per 1 ml of juice will suit for your purposes. You may want to try .9 mg per 1 ml of juice if you get too accustomed to the .6 mg and it seems not enough. Yes, there are vendors willing to offer varying nicotine preferences for consumers. You may need to politely ask via email or live chat offered on some vendor sites.

For your gear's wattage it sounds like 20 - 30 watts is doing alright for you. You may consider trying to build or buy a 1 ohm coil. This will allow you to use lower wattage, conserving your battery life and also further cooling the vapor. Presently, I am using an unflavored nicotine base of 50/50. That is it is about fifty percent respectively of PG & VG. The nicotine is in a vg solution so there is slightly more vg, I tolerate about a five percent scale either way. I use a 50/50 base across the board as it seems to do reasonably well enough in all gear I use. I am currently using a coil that averages out to read 1.25 ohms in an RSST genesis style tank/rda. The vapor produced at about 9 watts is really nice. :)

Welcome to the forum here. You'll find some very good information. Check out the Library section of this forum. It has a great deal of useful stuff for those starting out. One caution I offer, if you sub ohm be sure to not use coils much below .5 ohms unless you gain experience gradually in doing so, also carry your batteries safely and respect vaping like you do guns, chainsaws. I may not be around this particular as much as much now. There are other forums, on most of these you'll find me as the same handle. :) You can holler questions my way if you like, or ask others here or on other forums.

You'll find most people involved in vaping freely offer good advice for good motivations. We like helping save others from the evil stinkers. :)

By the by, @suprtrkr is a real stand up guy. He can help steer you in the right direction as well. :)

Sub Ohm means vaping below 1.0 ohm and high watts. I would not go that route until you are experienced. If you are already doing it, and it sounds like you are by your wattage, then your nic level should be dropped to a 6 or even a 3mg. Sub Ohm is not the only way to vape. I have been vaping for 3 years and mostly stay at 12-14 watts and higher resistance (1.4ohms) This is referred to in the forum as Tootle Puffing and you can get help for that here

Yay! Go Go Tootle Puffers! :) I used to Tootle Puff using evod tanks. Found out kind of about sub ohm vaping by accident. Yes, I know presently I'm not sub ohm vaping. Also know I built my own darn coil. :) I like my 1.25 build coil, it looks purty. I like using rayon as wick too, it tastes well, ... rayon don't taste;) I can't use my evod tanks any more. Gotten used to building coils, used to having air flow, doing sub ohm if I want. For me it is like breathing, only a little better. hehe.

But yes, I suggest trying Tootle Puffing as a means to start out. Once you get used to vaping, get to understanding some of the basics better you can always do sub ohm or Womper vaping. You'll see The Womper Woom OR You Might Be A Modwomper thread as well. In here you find a lot of sub ohm vapers. You don't need to be an either or, you can do both if you want. That's part of the enjoyment of vaping, you get more control than cigarettes offered.
