As a newbie, one very important thing that I have learnt is that what works for one may not work for another.
One vaper may take a vape from a certain setup and find it bliss while another may find it horrible.
You will find conflicting information on what gauge, wicking materials, etc. to use. At the end of the day, I have found that it is necessary to have hands on experience.
Try different materials and gauges to find what works for you. Try it several times with one material first because the first few tries fail due to 'operator error.

I'm sorry if I haven't helped much, but at the end of the day, it's best to try all the materials yourself. Don't be clouded by opinions. You're the one vaping the setup. Nobody knows what would suit you. Yes, they can give suggestions, but it's best to try each one yourself to determine what is best.

Somebody said this to me once 'Who told you that throathit is non existent? You need a rebuildable to obtain throathit on 0 nic.'
It was crap advice. Well meant, but totally wrong. Maybe his/her idea of throat hit is different from mine, I don't know.
Don't be afraid to try different setups. Be patient and don't expect to get it right the first time.
Good luck!
Oh BTW, you actually can use ss mesh on a Vivi. But don't take my word for it. Try it! :)

The wires are used to form coils which in turn, heats the juice on your wick to produce the vapours.
The higher the AWG (American Wire Guage) the thinner and more electrically-resistive it is.

Cotton yarn any good places online to get some?
If you're not using silica wick, sterile cotton gauze will do nicely as well.

Whats the difference between ss mesh and kanthal wire?
Entirely different thing for entirely different purpose.
SS Mesh is used to form the wick in most gennys, though it is possible to use it as a heating coil (I havn't tried).
The wire as mentioned, the 'heater'.

I can either use cotton or the ss mesh right?
For you to find out. That's the fun of it.:D

Sterile cotton gauze? The ones that look like a net right? Not those cotton balls

Wow wow......Thanks for correcting me. I learn something new. mesh on vivi nova. so how does it feel? better?

For me to find out???

Spot on!
It's best not to cloud your opinion. But remember it may need some time to break in. If you don't like it, leave it aside. Come back to it in another couple of weeks. Tastes changes. I mean your taste buds.

That very one, yes. IF you insist on going the organic way... It has been done by some, Tube it and you'll see.

SS mesh will take time to perfect and each have their own preferred methods. At this juncture, get the basics right 1st. Don't get confused or distracted. When in doubt, just do it. Mistakes are part of the learning process.

To add on my greenhorn experience while playing with the vivi nova, silica wick should be soak first and dry throughout before usage to increase the absorbent feature and get rid of the raw taste of silica YUCK!!

And also oxidize the kanthal wire nicely with a cigar brutane torch or keep doing naked firing or you will have a mouthful of iron taste yuck

guys thank you so much for all your advise. am currently awaiting my items to come so i can do some testing myself. and just one last, what would be a safe ohm range for me? as in once i have rebuilt my coils i would check its ohms on my vamo and am not too sure what ohms range should i expect or try to achieve. i will use these rba's on my 3.7 ego batt, twist and vamo and i dont want to damage them or worst still end up damaging myself. so anyone can tell me a safe ohms range?

Hmmm.. Using on 3.7V ego batt.. I would say go with range between 1.7ohm to 2.2ohm. Of cos can't ge the best vaping experience out of a 3.7v batt. There's always tradeoff if the voltage is low.

No matter what method you used.
Always play it in a safe way.
Try to to read up reference and reviews by others before trying.

If you're on Vamo, understand that there is a 1.2ohm limitation.
Anything below, you will not be able to fire it off.
Keep it to 1.7ohms and above for the time being, and play with the voltage/wattage.

Then again, don't try to fire a LR setup on egos (I just don't trust the batts);
Unless you are the kind of person who eats firecrackers for breakfast.

Like NK says, play safe. NOT end up sorry.
