They are not really variable voltage. They are 3-stage voltage. The Ego clone one at Gotvapes has 3.2 (which I would never use), 3.7 (which is great but I have that cheaper with my Riva) and 4.2 which I hear is more like 3.9. The 3.2 may be useful to someone who uses LR attys and cartos. I use standard resistance cartos so 3.2 is too cold. They are nice but pricy for what they are.

The latest Riva 510's from Eastmall the 3.7v models. (in the US that is the kits from Liberty-Flights.com). And if you want to be sure, get the Eastmall Riva SE model which I think has always been 3.7v.

...may work fine for some but it seems a little "gimicky" to me...I would just get a KGO batt for less money or spend a few bucks more and get a real VV box mod from MadVapes or even better, one of the EVER/VARI Cool box mods from Smoktek, Ken's Box mods or Foxybox mods.........

p.s. almost anything the eGo VV can do, can also be emulated with different ohmage attys and cartos...IF I were going to get one(doubtful) I would get a passthru model...at least that way, when at home on the passthru, you would get consistent voltage(which would be true with any passthru)......mj

The OP is in Australia and Singapore

If you use LR attys and cartos, I can see the benefit of the 3-stage because you might actually get use out of 3.2v.

With standard resistance stuff - I have plenty of 3.7 devices already (KR808D-1, my Riva 510, 3.7v mod boxes). I really can't feel much difference between the 3.7 and 4.2 on the "Ego" 3-stage. The "4.2" setting doesn't seem quite as as hot as when I take my 3.7v Riva 510 fresh off the charger. But I am a shopaholic - so I bought one 3-stage battery to try even though it cost as much as my entire Riva kit or 2 Rivas.

It's a nice piece - why not try one 3-stage battery? It's pretty for sure.

Don't agonize over it. If you are like most people, you will eventually own every model you are interested in trying.
