I am trying to help my friend quit analogs.

I have supplied him:
- Inferno (eGo)
- Leo
- Reo Mini
- juices ranging 24mg-16mg of nic (all sorts of flavors)

I've been analog free for about a month now--he still smokes analogs and vapes.

We both started over a year ago vaping and failed.

I asked him today, 'why can't you quit analogs?'...

He said, 'I really enjoy smoking...'...

What else can he try?

If someone really does not wish to stop, they won't -- nature of the beast.

If someone does wish to stop, but hasn't been able to, it's possible they may need to use some of the smokeless tobacco stuff too (there's a forum area on this), else nudge one up on nic (to a 30 or even a 36), else they just haven't found their flavor sweet spot.

For example, I really needed something with "zip", a bit of the harshness of a normal cigarette. I quit by using Kamel and Dunhall from vapor4life, and came up with a DIY (do it yourself) that I really liked at 24 and 30 mg -- it tastes really cig-like, to me and a few others who have tried it. I don't use my tob4 any more, but do keep some around for new people.

For me the KR808D-1 was a really good PV, enough warmth and vapor. In the 510/Riva/EGo family I use 2 ohm cartomizers to get equivalent warmth and vapor.

Good luck!

You can buy 36 mg from several vendors, like vapor4life -- no DIY needed. The 2 ohm cartos do help if they have a 510/eGo type. After 6 months I still don't "get" messing with atties -- put juice in a carto cap, push carto into it. Clear it on a tissue, and good to go for several hours.

Hassling with cartridges and/or cartomizers is too much for some people.

Maybe get him a drip tip and see if he likes dripping better.
I know I do.
:)

Ah, forgot to mention, DC2...

I got him a lr306 w/delrin DT already...lol!

He does enjoy dripping.

The only thing I haven't tried to introduce him to is (what Mark has suggested):
- higher nic content
- DIY liquids

I, personally, have been decreasing my nic content...but will order some 36mg nic on my next batch.

The second third would be finding a flavor(s) at a strength that he really enjoys. The final third would be willpower - maybe some snuss to get him through the stressful times?

Yes, Cathy, finding the proper flavor and strength is still experimental at this point. I asked him about snuss--no go on that one.

What you haven't said is if HE really wants to completely QUIT analogs ??? Without that, nothing else is going to matter in the future.

And grandmato5, I did ask him that, but I believe there are other outstanding issues that he needs to deal with that may be causing him to refer back to analogs.

Ex: his wife does not allow him to vape in front of the kids--I don't know if this means anything, but personally, I find it a deterrence.
