I loved smoking for 37 years and I'm sure I would enjoy one now. Having said that, I just have no desire for one. This probably doesn't make any sense to anyone but me, but it's how I feel.

The last few weeks I've been around a bunch of smokers most of every day. No problem :thumb:. Shocked the s**t out of me!

Makes perfect sense to me since I feel the exact same way. Have absolutely no urge to try one but they don't repulse me or anything like that. But if something happened (like my 20 ego batteries all dying at once :) ), I wouldn't feel guilty about having a few cigarettes. At this point, I know - absolutely - that I much prefer vaping. To me, vaping is no longer a substitute for smoking, smoking would be an (inferior) substitute for vaping.

I actually tried a few drags off a cigarette myself from a classmate. I hadn't smoked for 8 months and I just wanted to see what it's like. Holy hell that is one nasty ashtray sandwich. I tried a few drags from a cigar last week and that was still enjoyable.
In the first 2 weeks of vaping it was a little tough to stay off the tobacco but I'm glad I pushed through. I know a few vapers that didn't keep themselves off tobacco and have been combining vaping and smoking for a few months already.

I might sneak a occasional puff of my mothers to remind me but thats it. Another thing that helps is when I have to go to the store for my parents cigs and it costs more for a carton of cigs then for me over a month of vaping!

I kinda did go on a spending spree this week with the new protank 2 coming out and I bought me a new carto tank but splurge fund is empty now. My quit anniversary is coming up in Oct and now Im going to start saving for a Vamo 3.

1 I haven't had the offer

2 I'm completely satisfied with my vape

3 The last drag I took off an analog tasted terrible so...can't think why it would be any different now AND I'm very happy recalling how bad it tasted. Makes any possible decision about taking someone up on the offer to 'sneak a toke' easy :)

I was a heavy smoker for over 30 years. I quit cigarettes after 3 days of vaping, I just didn't like the taste of cigarettes anymore. At that time I would buy cigarettes by the carton and I had two packs left when I quit. I left those two packs sit on my desk for over a year just to see if I would be tempted and I never was. Haven't had, or wanted a cigarette since 3/14/11.

As far as running out of vape material, I've gotten into the habit of carrying a small case around with me with spare batteries, filled tanks and even a backup 808 with a couple of cartos. When I started, everything I used was pretty much mail order, so I'd buy about a months worth of supplies at a time. (I guess being an engineer I plan for worst case scenarios)

Now a brick and mortar vaping store carrying a wide selection of products has opened up about 3 miles from my home so I don't worry as much about having to anticipate needing, say, atomizers at least a week in advance. It's also nice that they have a system in the store for allowing customers to sample juice a few puffs at a time (pre-filled tanks with disposable mouthpieces that slip over the tank mouthpiece).

A week into vaping I absentmindedly lit a cigarette, took half a puff before I realized what I had done. It tasted like I licked the bottom of a dirty ashtray. I spent the next ten minutes in the bathroom retching and going through a half a bottle of mouthwash. I'll take a huge pass on repeating the experience.

When people see me with my provari, they think I'm "trying" to quit smoking, some of them comes up to me, almost feeling pity as they think I struggle to fight the craving for a cigarette:

- Here! Have a real cigarette... You can thank me now! I'm a good guy offering you a cigarette to alleviate your suffering. I'm like Jesus!

- Are you out of your :censored: mind?!?! Does this look like a device I bought out of a Walgreens to try to quit smoking?

I was doing yard work this past weekend, I was almost done. The mosquitoes were on me something fierce. I asked my wife for a cig to repel them like we all know they do. I took 2 drags out of curiosity. I wasn't repulsed but I was surprised how unsatisfying it was. I believe I get a better throat hit off vapor now, is this possible?

I have yet to be offered, but i have been to the casino twice plus a concert, and my vape has been much more satisfying. The concert (plus 4 beers) was my biggest test. Vaping was allowed inside at the Masquerade in Atlanta, but we did go outside with the smokers because it was so hot inside. It smelled so bad out there. LOL I wasnt even tempted!

I'm into week 3 of vaping and still have a cig once or twice a day. The temptation is always there as my SO smokes so there is always a pack on the counter. I have smoked for most of the last 55 years and I'm sure I am addicted to much more than the nicotine. At first I was really beating myself up every time I caved in, but I've stopped that, if I really want one I'll smoke it. Every one I smoke tastes worse than the one before and I'm fairly certain that I will eventually stop. For now I am smoking 2 a day and I can see that going to 1 in the next day or two.

This was a primary reason why I got a iTaste MVP. With a full charge I can get 30 plus hours of consistent vaping (sometimes longer). Consistent meaning...I use it for 10-15 puffs every 20-30 mins...throughout the day (8am till 10pm). Its also easily chargable via a mini usb from my car phone charger or any place I can find a usb port.

I agree with many others. I enjoy vaping 10x more than I ever did smoking. Since I quit in February this year...I've had 2 cigs. 1st was the same weekend I started vaping, and very similar to the OP's circumstances...I was in vegas, and on a roll at the BJ table so I bummed a smoke from a fellow player. It tasted like crap and I went and got another battery but its not like that one smoke made me want to keep smoking. Second time I smoked an real cigarette was outside a bar in northern Mich. I had a charged unit...I was just half drunk and it sounded appealing. It tasted pretty good actually...but probably because I had 4 drinks and 3 shots in me. :)
