The moral of this story is make sure your battery outlasts what you are going out to do -- and after vaping for 3 months now when I smoked the other night I realized just how disgusting it really is.

I'm fairly new at this (smoked my last cig on 6/28) and that's my current phobia: that I'm gonna be out somewhere and run out of batteries, cartos, whatever. I know that it wouldn't be more than an hour or two before I'd be trying to bum a cig off someone, even though I have no desire to smoke as long as I'm able to vape.

As far as running out of vape material, I've gotten into the habit of carrying a small case around with me with spare batteries, filled tanks and even a backup 808 with a couple of cartos. When I started, everything I used was pretty much mail order, so I'd buy about a months worth of supplies at a time. (I guess being an engineer I plan for worst case scenarios)

I'm an engineer and I'm the same way. "Double redundancy" all the way :)

I can't even hookah anymore. Every now and then I will take a puff, and just be reminded that it's not a taste I like. When I puff a menthol it's not as offensive, but still not as satisfying as vaping.

What I bring:
I have two 400mah 808 batteries on me and 300mah 808 battery, and two filled 808 clearos (about 1.8mls each). That's about 11 hours of vaping or more for me. All of this fits in a small hard (opera) wallet I have. Like this:http://www.amazon.com/Womens-Sparkl...&qid=1375309113&sr=1-55&keywords=opera+wallet but without the credit card holders, it just has two elastic bands for cards which I use to hold the batteries and cartos in place. Holds everything in place and looks elegant. I can also throw my ID and a card in there if I need to.

If I know I'm going to be out drinking or out for longer, I'll also bring a 900 mah ego and cartotank or clearomizer (filled with 4-5mls). I'll just throw these in my bag.

When I first started I had this 900mah battery that always died after 4-5 hours and I would smoke and feel horrible the next day. (Not from guilt or anything, just my mouth/throat/lungs would ache)

I made an unbreakable personal pact that if I invested in vaping then the deal was that I could never put first hand tobacco smoke in my lungs again. After a multi decadel struggle of trying every method to quit I feel I've passed the point of no return with smokes for the first time in my life. I can't give that up even if my all my batteries die and I drop my backup blu in the john.

I do keep lozenges on hand but I haven't touched one since I started vaping. They are always on me though just in case.

A week into vaping I absentmindedly lit a cigarette, took half a puff before I realized what I had done. It tasted like I licked the bottom of a dirty ashtray. I spent the next ten minutes in the bathroom retching and going through a half a bottle of mouthwash. I'll take a huge pass on repeating the experience.
I like the way you described it as licking the bottom of a dirty ashtray. I can somewhat relate to that. When I hear "It tasted like a__" it always makes me think, "hmmm, don't know about that, but to each his own". :)

Its been 18 months since my last cig. Vaping completely satisfies me. Having said that, I DO get the urge every now and then. When this happens, I'll Vape some Ahlusion Devil Dog, this completely does it for me! I cant say it tastes like a cig, but its a hardcore tobacco flavor that is reminiscent enough to me!

I have been vaping now for over four years. I found e-cigs and quit drinking at the same time. I smoked about 2 packs a day for 30 years. Now I smoke only when I go to parties. Nope I don't even feel guilty. I couldn't stand going to parties and not drinking or smoking, it was simply no fun at all. However allowing myself to smoke at parties let's me enjoy them again. In the past four years I have smoked about 2 packs a years and only when I'm with friends who are drinking and smoking. That is 365 times less than what I was. That's good enough for me. I look forward to parties again and having a few cigs. Before I dreaded the thought of going because it was just too hard. I think this is a good compromise for me. No booze ever again but allowing myself to smoke at parties only seems to keep me happy and healthy.

Well if this does happen to you, once you take a puff of that cig, it's going to taste pretty nasty!! I had no desire to smoke again once I got home and "recharged".....I will NEVER forget my charging pack again!LOL

I haven't had a drag of a cigarette since a few days after I got my first ecig almost 2 years ago. I have not even been tempted. I'm very grateful that they hold no appeal to me any longer. I actually don't fear that I would start again if I had a drag or a cigarette. I think I could smoke one and be perfectly happy to never have another.

During my first 5 months of vaping I had none, and didn't want to.
During my vacation I had a few, it was something about those awesome, but smokey pubs in Prague that got to me. :)
It was no big deal, and it didn't take many to remember why I quit in the first place.

It was wonderful to confirm they don't have any power over me anymore actually.
