I am very new to do it yourself mixing. I bought a bottle of sweetener but not sure if this is what I need. I found a recipe that calls for Ethyl maltol. I have read that cotton candy is the same thing as ethyl maltol but now I'm so confused if the sweetener I bought is also the same. I do not want to mix crystals and all that jazz even though it would be more cost effective. I want a bottle I can open and just add drops. Can someone please tell me if the em, the cotton candy and the sweetener are all the same thing. I really want to make this recipe but not sure what to use now. If the sweetener is different from the em and cotton candy, can you please tell me which cotton candy to buy, there are so many out there and do you use the same amount of that as you would the em (once you mix with pg). Sorry if this got confusing, but I have no clue what I'm doing lol.

There all the same EM crystals is just that a crystal. Disolving crystals can be a little tricky and is not good for the first timer. EM in liquid form, Cotton candy or any sweetner in liquid form is good for the first timer. Use sparingly at 1% then taste and add more if needed in 1% incriments.

EM does many things, one of which is sweeten. What it does depends on how much is used. I cover a number of the uses for EM in my blog. (A 10% EM solution, which is typical, is also called Cotton Candy flavoring by TPA/TFA and Lorann's)

Sweetner is not EM it's sucralos (Not sure if I spelled it right) but both can be used to achive sweetness. As far as what the OP bought he can use it to achive his intended perpose. I am just mentioning it so there is no confusion on the OP's part.

Stick with a sweetner you can buy at a place that sells flavors for vaping such as perfumers apprentace. You can get EM there already in liquid form.

with those 2 you should be set, like other folks state use sparingly at 1%
