So i have a SmokX Cube2 with an Ijust 2 tank, NI200 .15 ohm coil. When i hook it to my cube, i have temp set to 420F coefiecent is at .006 mode is normal. For some reason i am gettin almost no vapor, and a slight burnt taste. it hits its set temp in about 1.5 seconds. and displays a temp protected message. can anyone explain what i am doing wrong. My batteries are half full ( if that could be the issue). Just need help.

I don't have an X Cube but I would check that the coil is screwed in correctly and that it's well saturated. Good connection with Nickel and temp control is very important for devices to get accurate readings.

Don't know how accurate the temp control is in that device but 420f is roughly speaking the point where cotton can begin to burn, but that's what I set my Vaporshark to when I vape Ni200 coils. Will the X Cube working with resistances as low as 0.06, that's too low for a Vaporshark.

Maybe you just have a bad coil head.

ok thnx for the help. i think i figured it out. I unscrewed my tank, fired the unit with nothing attached, so that it would say check atomizer, reattached new tank, and told mod that it was a new coil. it seemed to still have the resistance of my kanthal coil rda at .13 and the ni200 is reading at .14, but now it seems to produce. so far problem seems solved.

So i thought i figured out the issue. it seemed to work for one hit, but then again got an instant burnt taste. so i tried yet another new coil. soaked the cotton, let it sit in the tank for an hour. set the temp to 380F and co to 0.006 for a ni200 sc. every hit i take taste like burnt toast. im using a 70vg/30pg juice. never really have this problem with my kanthal coils. i really dont understand if im doing something wrong. or possible just a bad set of coils. i have 5 and so far 3 of them instantly give off a burnt cotton taste. do they have a break in period? the coils are screwed in right, the connection is great. just barely get any vapor and when i do the taste is just burnt. Im using this Ijust2 tank that came with the kit. and i bought the ni200 coils for it.

Try a TCR of .0054 (if it will allow that).

Also, you have to let the coil itself cool to room temperature (a good 5 minutes should do the trick) before you put it on the mod. That way the mod will be able to read the proper base resistance. If you put a warm coil on there and the mod reads that as the base resistance, it will throw your temps way off.

If neither of those things work, then I say you have bad coils.

What is your watt/joule setting? It sounds like it's way too high. If it's too high the coil will get too hot too fast and rather than adjusting the power the mod will simply cut the power entirely and kick on the temperature protection message. Try cutting your power to about half of what it's set at and see if that works better. You may even have to go lower than that.

And IMO your temperature setting is too low. Normal vaping takes place between 450 and 525F depending on how hot you like your vape and the flavoring. Don't be surprised if you find the vape a bit anemic at 420F once you get the power setting corrected.

BONE DRY cotton begins to scorch at 420F, but you're not planning on vaping bone dry cotton, are you?

A well saturated wick can easily handle temperatures of 520F or even higher. Depending on your juice some flavors will begin to taste burnt before the cotton burns. Generally speaking you should have no problems with 450F to 525F depending on the flavor. Even my severely air restricted Nautilus with TC coils can handle 460F with no problems.

the watts are automatically adjusted, the max they reach are around 50 watts.
