510 whistle tip to replace the end caps (soft or no) makes the carto hit very smooth and nice. Every time I order cartomizers, I order the whistle tips as well. Very easy to run battery end refills.

You have to cut about 1/8" off the whistle (easy with razor blade device) so it does not crush the filler. This increases the distance from the carto when you draw and smooths out the hit. I use the soft end caps for transporting of the filled carts.

I've got soft 801 tips but where do you get soft 510s?

But the taste, the vapor, the consistancy.....it is all so worth a little extra juice.
Beecee, I warned my hubby about the switch. So far I have not had such mishaps. It would be cool if Jeff would offer that touch switch option where it only goes off if your finger is on it. I'd definately order another chuck or two if he did. I saw there were a few mods with this feature but I just can't cheat on chuck.
The touch switch works because when your hand is touching the metal it completes the circuit. On my Chuck no metal is exposed. The end caps are painted and the middle has a full wrap. So it wouldn't work.

It could work if the caps were unpainted. Then you'd just need to touch one of them.

I don't think they make a soft 510 whistle as yet. These would be the black plastic ones that you see a plenty. I hear the 801 tips actually fit better/tighter than the 510's but I have no 801 tips to confirm.

Even with the soft caps cartos it's sometimes a slight hassle to remove the ends for filling. With the aforementioned whistle, you just pop it off and fill. The draw is much improved on the increased distance from the wire. Even if you have the regular round tips and get a hard cap removed? (easy IMV) try one and see if your results are the same.

I like the hit it delivers.

I have lots and lots of 801 tips. The bottom of a 510 whistle tip slides right inside it, no problem. ;) One would have to be a great deal more adept than I am to force that thing in the top of a 510 carto.

On the carto, I seem to have 3 levels of vaping:
Zilch - it feels dry and harsh
Flooded - top it off with 3 or 4 drops when the level is "zilch." The liquid pours out the bottom and it gurgles when you vape
Mouthful of warm liquid - self-explanatory

These seems like it will be so much more convenient than regular carts in the long run that I am determined to master it. But, for the moment, I have it tucked up in a box with it's condoms on and I'm happily sucking on a regular 510 atty.

What type of cartos are you using right now Poeia? I ran into those problems at first with the 808 ones and the two piece hard caps. If you have soft caps it is easier just to fill them. put the bottom stopper back on them. Pop the top, fill trying to keep the juice on the side but don't stress on over filling. Initial fill, put the condom on or the little soft top back on, throw them in a bag with a shoelace attached and spin (I prefer to do this when no one is looking, else they might have me committed) If the filler does not appear soaked, then add a bit more and either spin again or just give it a good shake. Blow out the carto gently, gets rid of any flood. If you have the 808's, take a q-tip and wipe out the bottom. By the second hit you should be vaping well. I've actually discovered that after the initial fill, direct dripping on a carto with No top at all is awesome if you are just sitting around chain vaping. It took me about a week to get it down to a no nonsense science without over/underfilling but even the learning curves were far less frustrating to me than dealing with polyfill.

I didn't have any problem filling the 808s -- condom followed by Taryn spin. I just didn't like vaping on them.

I'm using 510s now. I don't like the condom method with them. Hadn't thought of using the spin alone.

Straightening out the atomizer seems to have helped. I refilled the one I've been doing and made ones with 3 more flavors. They're stewing until morning and we shall see.

Chuck Miro Jr with Heavens-Gift Type B drip tip. I think it looks nice.

They shipped at 11 PM on the 4th (my time) and arrived around noon on the 8th. I used EMS because they had 1/3 off shipping due to the holiday.

The only thing I can compare it to is the delrin from Super T. The hole on the Heavens-Gift one is narrower. I can clean the delrin one with a Q-Tip. Only the stick of one will fit through this. (And remove the tip before trying this unless you want your hand to slip and kill your carto like mine did.)

It slips on and off as smoothly (with a little twist.) It's cool on your lips when you start and warms up a bit as you vape but doesn't seem to get hot. I don't think it adds a metalic taste to the liquid (nor do the coils, sides of the cartos or atomizers, etc.) That might depend on how you smoked/vape. I never lipped a cigarette in my life (and couldn't understand how people could put those soggy things back in their mouths.) If you did/do, you might taste the metal.

I'm definitely sold on drip tips. The jury is still out on cartos. I now have 14 to play with while I make up my mind.

Eww, soggy cigs were naaasty. I'm a minor germaphobe, won't use alot of things that have been on others lips, and if I get too much of my own on it I won't even use that unless I can wipe it off. -_-

They look good.. I'd almost be tempted to get some stainless cartos so it's a little more uniform despite the tip having a coppery hue to it. No metal taste then? Might have to get some, I'm not totally against delrin tips, the ones I got from Nhaler are nice cept the shorty is just too short for me.

I think I'll be done once I finally nail down a flavor I can do all the time, I like TW555 but 555 gets old, and I'm not a big candy person. I need a good coffee variant for sure, since I can't drink it, but I miss the taste. None of this new-fangled latte and macchiato crap either, people put more junk in their coffee nowadays that it's no longer coffee, it's dessert for breakfast.

Why, why, why, why can't I fill these things without flooding them?

It makes them gurgle. It makes them hard to vape. It wastes liquid.

Cartos?

I throw the condoms back on and pop em in a plastic bag and do the human centrifuge. Can get around 30 drops in the cartos I got from nhaler.

Though I'm hooked on these now, since they're 3.4 ohm resistance and I'm rockin the 6v. Works out perfectly, and Nhaler IS OUT OF THEM. PAAAANIIIIIC.:(

I have 10 from Nhaler, 5 from Vapor Kings and 50 just arrived from East Mall. I definitely prefer them in theory, but I just don't have the touch yet.

Once I take the top condom off, I never put it back on. I have a plastic tube that's a little wider than my thumb. I was using it for draining atomizers after washing them (there's no room for them to fall over). I threaded a shoelace through just below where the cap ends. But I rarely bother putting the cap on -- they don't fall out.

Drop in along the edges, spin, more drops until I can see the moisture, put the drip tip back on, leave it for a while.

Two things I have learned: it's better to take the carto off the Chuck before adding liquid and never spin a carto if you forgot to put the .... plug and condom back on it.

My little tube is the 6 ounce one of these. I'm pretty sure I paid the full $1.29 for it. :( (lol)

ETA: All the places carrying the large, hard 510 cartos have the same thing. They come in the same box. The only variation is that some places got soft white end pieces that aren't glued in and others have the hard ones. (My guess is that the soft ones cost the suppliers a little more.) For 80 cents a carto at EastMall, I'm willing to pry the glued tops off.

I hear ya on that, I learned my lesson once with filling without the plug. Juice all over the connection and in my mouth to boot!

Now I throw the top condom back on, chuck it in a ziploc, wave it over my head like I'm poppin a bola at someone and all the liquid flows downwards so I can top it off.

I just have to have the higher resistance ones, otherwise they end up tasting like burnt too often. The nhaler ones rock hard.
