I bought my last batch of nicotine supplies before all the mailing mess became a thing. Unfortunately, I had to discard the nic salt/freebase I had in the freezer because it went bad.

Normally I mix down to 3mg 50/50 using a combination of nic salt and Freebase. Bit of a challenge finding suppliers in the USA. I prefer to mix in batches of 500 ml. Not sure on the calculations though and would appreciate some help.

I have 120 ml of 100mg VG nic salt and 120 ml of 100mg PG Freebase. My goal is to mix both to 3mg and store it in 15ml amber glass bottles. Hopefully it lasts longer than a year this time.

I have no idea how to calculate it because I've always bought PG Nic Salt and didn't notice I ordered VG. It's a major PITA to find supplies now, so it is what is is. The go to calculator I've used for years is over at .....................

Anybody know how to calculate it?

3ml of 100mg nicotine per 100 ml of mix.
That will make 8 Litters of 3mg eliquid.
If you store your nicotine as it is (100mg), in the 15ml bottles, it will last longer in the freezer.
Your 15ml bottles would be perfect for adding straight into a 500ml mix (= 3mg)
Simply add 485ml of 50/50 PG/VG (minus your flavor ml add ins) when you are ready for your next batch and you have 50/50 eliquid at 3mg nic.

Sorry not an answer to your question but how did the stuff in the freezer go bad?
I’m terrified of my supplies going bad.

I kept the liquid in the original containers in a small box towards the back of the freezer. My guess is it had something to do with the TX Winter Storm last year. This time around I'm mixing everything down to 15ml amber bottles.

3ml of 100mg nicotine per 100 ml of mix.
That will make 8 Litters of 3mg eliquid.

Thanks for the help. I was having a bit of a brain fart.

I woudn't mix them down to 3 mg/ml for storage since, when you add flavorings, the resulting nicotine concentration would be less than 3 mg/ml.

Since you want 50:50 PG/VG and both the freebase and salts stock nicotine bases are 100 mg/ml, I would mix the two nicotine base solutions 50:50 in smaller bottles for freezer storage. That will give you 240 ml of 50:50 PG/VG at 100 mg/ml nicotine base.

You might then break that down to one of the 120 ml bottles (relabeled 50:50 PG/VG) and the rest in the 15 ml amber bottles.

If I were doing it, I would use a 120 ml, a 60 ml, a 30 ml and two 15 ml bottles.

You prefer to mix 500 ml of vaping juice at a time - which means you need 500 x 3 = 1500 mg of nicotine. With your 100 mg/ml nicotine base, that means you need 15 ml of the base - the other 485 ml is everything else. So that base is going to last a long time and you are going to need gallons of PG and VG.

I premix my PG and VG into a stock solution 50:50. When I want to make up a vaping mix, I dump in the nicotine base needed and the flavors. I then add the premixed PG/VG stock solution to get the final volume. I don't worry that the nicotine base I use is not in 50:50 PG/VG, as the amount of base used is small and does not affect the PG/VG ratio significantly.
