In my kit and kaboodle kit that i got from Jack and happy vapor, the atomizers had tips on them..that I believe were carts..but they don't have the foam inside like the extra cartridges I bought. What do I do then with the cartridges that have no foam in them? I did buy a drip tip but am just starting off using the filled cartridges first. Now, with the cartomizers, are these things better than just cartridges? Any pros and cons for both would be much appreciated!!

The carts without filler are just to protect the atomizer in shipping as far as I know. You can toss them or if you dig through the forums you can find fillers to put in them and use them. A cartomizer is a cartridge and atomizer combined. Some are easy to fill and others require a syringe to fill. So check the item descriptions. Ultimately it all boils down to preference as to which is better. The main advantage of a cartomizer is that they hold more juice and it is all one unit. Some people say they produce more (or less) vapor, flavor, etc. Best thing to do is to try them out and see what you prefer.

Hope that helps a bit...

I personally like cartomizers better. I had a hard time with carts. I would fill them up, top them off, get 3-4 puffs and would start tasting burnt.

I got some cartomizers in the other day, filled them up, and used one for half the day. I have been dripping mostly, the the cartomizers are great for when you cant drip (like while driving)

You will find opinions divided on the subject of carts/atties vs. cartomizers. Very much so. On convenience, cartomizers with a soft cap are easier to refill hands down, but cartomizers don't take to cleaning too well, imho, though some do clean them with hot water. And cartomizers generally hold more eliquid. But...some find that the flavors are cleaner and more pronounce with cart/atty and/or dripping.
There really are a lot of opinions on this subject. There are also a lot of differences between different atties and different cartomizers based on manufacturer, and on resistance. Low resistance cartomizers and atomizers usually produce more vapor, but...in some cases affect the flavor depending on what you vape.

Do check out the guides in the ECF Forum called "The ECF Library."

Don't toss the empty carts. You can rinse them out and use them if you want. You can use polyfil stuffing (purchase at Wal-Mart or any craft store) or Fluval Water Polishing Cloths (purchase at PetCo or PetSmart.) There are many video tutorials on YouTube for both. These are two of my favorites done by fellow ECF member Cozzcon.

I think you should try both.

So far I am a cartridge (aka cart) person. I enjoy playing with my flavor. If I have a tobacco ejuice in the cart I might add a bit of vanilla, or chocolate, or add a bit of a sweet RY4 to a darker tobacco. I also mix desserty flavors. if I want more TH I add a drop or two of a higher TH eliquid. I just like playing with it. Even when I am just vaping vanilla, I might add a bit of chocolate or fruit or just a different vanilla just to change it up.

I can mess with my cart and juices at work at my desk, at home, and my ride to work is short. I don't have a pressing need for a cart that lasts longer. But some people do have longer rides, or jobs where they can't mess with carts and juice, or just have a desire to have one flavor in a carto that will last longer.

Another factor - I was a lights smoker and I am not looking for a big hit. Some cartos actually put out more vapor and more intense flavor than I need. I would just be wasting juice if I used cartos, and possibly upping my nicotine dependency.

re the dud empty cart that comes on an atty - I use that after blowing out the primer from the atty then priming it with juice and vaping that off without inhaling. And one of my PVs has manual batteries that still have a hole in the end and an external atty bridge so when I dip (rather than drip) I use the dud empty cart to vape.
