OK, so I have all kinds of ecigs. I had big expectations on the Vapor King or KR808D-1 and am finding myself getting quite disappointed in this thing. It's a PS Ace manual but I doubt the brand matters unless I'm wrong. I've dropped a substancial amount of money on cartoz of different flavors and strengths and I'm finding out that this thing isn't such a "vapor king" at all. I really like the convenience of the 2 peice and I actually do refill my cartoz to get some extra life out of my investment, but it's just not cutting it for me. Am I missing something or what? Is the one from V4L any different or from any other vendor for that matter? I've bought the cartoz from different vendors with pretty much the same inconsistency from all of them. The only place I haven't ordered from is V4L but I'm getting tired of this "trying stuff" to no avail. The Smoke 51 style is by far the best vapor producer and my 510 always kicks ..... BTW, the L2 510 sucks balls...it's too airy unless you hit it a few times with a manual. There was a waste of 35 bucks except for the batteries. Talk to me people. The VK seems to have a mixed following but also a favored ecig so what the hell am I doing wrong?

I'm interested to know this as well. I've only used the V4L VK and I really like it. I could see how some may want a bit more vapor, but for me the amount of vapor, throat hit and flavor are great. The throat hit really make me feel like I'm inhaling something which in my case helps replicate smoking analogs.

I've read that the V4L is different. I think it had something to do with number of holes. I'm sure others would have more reliable info.

Well zoomie, maybe you just needed a good lament.;) I am noticing with cartos - that if I take a long, slow pull I get a pretty respectable amount of vapor - every bit as much as my 510. I was having such inconsistancy with regular attys that I decided to try cartos - so far, I'm happy I did. They hit very well, every time. I am running them on a VP2 3.7 mod.

You dont have a VK,you have a 808 from puresmoker, and no one ever promised huge vapor clouds from an 808.I use a VK from Vapor4life because the choice in flavors and the throat hit.It works very well for my needs.figure out your needs and proceed from there.

I question that. I have an 808 and I also get product from V4L. I can't tell the difference from one to the other.

To the TS: You do need a good battery or better still a pass-thru with a decent power supply. When I'm not plugged to a computer I use a Powerline USB adapter or try one of these:

Battery holder: AA x 4 with USB interface connector and Belt clip ("On" / "OFF" power switch) - RoHS Compliant

There is a lot of difference between different models. I also have the smoke 51 and its awesome. Its also called an E9 (but you cant search it on the forums because its only two letters). It has tons of vapor and batt life is good. Lecig sells this same model and they call it a kr8-D2. There is a lot of good information here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/kr808d-1/56806-non-kanger-kr808d-1-battery-lecig-com.html to explain the differences and the cartomizers make a huge difference too.

I use the Chuck WITH the V4l cartos, cleaned out cartos with USA made juice etc etc at 3.7v. I get more vapor than I ever did from a regular battery and more taste. Much more consistent and I don't have to worry about batteries dying every couple of hours. 1 battery lasts all day hitting with the same consistency every single time.

I have the KR808D-1 from V4L also. I can't say I'm a big fan either. I much prefer my 801. I think it all comes down to personal preference. I don't find the KR808D-1 has the throat hit that I need, also, I can't vape PG so that may make a big difference too. I was filling blank cartos with my DIY mix but the throat hit just wasn't cutting it. I'm actually going to put my KR808D-1 up for sale in the classifieds when I get around to it. It's just collecting dust now so hopefully it will find a loving home with someone else. It's a really well made e-cig and the cust. serv. from V4L is unbeatable so I feel bad dissing it but it just didn't work for me. Different strokes.... and all that.

I think the difference you find between vendors of the Kr8 batteries is pretty much limited to the cutoff time. V4L has the longest that I have seen anywhere - 13 seconds. Other than that, the same length battery from different places seems to be rated the same.

Of course, color and branding can be different - but that probably isn't your first concern right now.

Good luck figuring out what satisfies you the best.

You might want to check out the Kr8 subforum.

I'm gonna order one from V4L with some cartoz....I'm really curious now. I'll report back once I get it. Man....here we go again. hehe. Oh well, it's the most fun I've had buying stuff in a loooooong time and I'm not smoking the analogs. still saving a ton of moolah too. =]

If its not too late, order the Xtra long (There's a huge difference in performance between the V4L XL and regular batts), and get yourself a USB Passthrough (which performs even better than the XL).

Combine this with a high nic dose (24 or 36) and you'll be in vaping heaven
