vaping 100% pg really bites. Barely any vapor and I'm limited to just Virginia tobacco flavor. Given I've gone 24 hours with no problems, I'm going to try and add just a tiny bit of cherry which has a little vg to it tomorrow to see if I can tolerate it. What I'd give to be able to vape a 50/50 blend......one can dream. The worst part is that when I first started I could vape any blend with no problem. It's a lot like tasting chocolate cake and then discovering you can't have it anymore !!!!! :(:(

I'll agree. I don't like 100% pg and need to have some vapor. My final mixture (from FSUSA) is 80pg/20vg, plus I'm adding about 10 to 15% Glycerin (I'm sure I've mentioned this...lol), and I'm having very little problems with sore gums. A little bit of sore gums, now and then, when I vape way too often, but it's not nearly as bad as it was before.

It seems like you should be able to add a little bit of Glycerin (from Walmart) and not have any problems. You could try 5 or 10% to see what happens.

Vaping seems to be all about experimenting with everything 'til we get it right.

Some juices gave me tongue "burn" and gum irritation similar to the sweet tarts and lemonheads references in earlier posts. Seems that early in my research around ECF, I read that some add ctric acid (like used for canning) to juice for bite or possibly throat hit? Something to consider if you find that one 100% PG juice is fine but another causes problems. Once I figured out what worked for me (I'm all VG), DIY just seemed easier. But being a flavor junkie, I do buy from vendors when I just can't resist.:p Rotating purchased with DIY keeps my side effects to a minimum and taste buds fresh. A drop or two of FSUSA's MTS Vap Wizard to 5 ml of juice adds vapor.
Hope you find something that works for you. Your experience, though similar, is different than mine. Guess we're just unique. Don't give up. Escape from decades of smoking doesn't have to happen overnight.

Have a question re the glycerine at Walmart. Are you talking about food grade vegetable glycerine? I'm confused. Apparently there is a difference between the glycerine at Walmart and food grade vegetable glycerine used as the flavor base in e liquid. Fill me in on this......I'm really curious and still missing vapor. :vapor::vapor:
Did post a question to FSUSA re their MTS Vap Wizard to see if it contains vg. Waiting for a reply.
Thanks all. :)

First, read the following message posted by a pharmacist and take note of the following sentence that's included in that message:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/46621-usp-glycerine.html#post696292
"All OTC glycerine, USP is made by 1 single manufacturer, HUMCO."

Here are all the ECF threads with "Glycerin" in the titles (using the "advanced search" function and "Search titles only"):

The Humco Glycerin at Walmart is marked USP, so it's safe to use, and based on the first sentence above, all over-the-counter glycerine is manufactured by Humco.

Update. Finally, out of frustration with vaping 100%pg (no vapor), I decided to just give the BWB Maple Tobacco a try. Couldn't believe it.....no problem after vaping it 3 hours that night. The next morning my tongue was normal. Have been able to vape all my old favorites since then. All I can do is chalk it up to nicotine withdrawal or adjustment of some kind. I did notice there was a small sore bump on the back of my tongue similar to a canker sore. It's gone now too. I'm one happy camper now. Thanks to all who helped me through this rough patch. The best thing is that I have enough liquid around here for a year due to all the experimenting.:laugh::):)

That's great, Becky! I'm soooo happy to hear this! Hope you don't have any more problems!

Out of curiosity, what's the pg/vg ratio in the BWB Maple Tobacco?

I think I had a little bit of all of the above: nicotine withdrawal (canker sore-type of pains), having to make adjustments (lowering nic strength, lowering VG, and quit using 5-volt passthroughs), and my mouth had to get used to (toughen up?) all that warm vapor, pg, vg, and nicotine. Still have slight soreness now and then in the two receding gums I have (forgot to mention this before -- from brushing too hard most of my life), but that's normal whenever I subject them to anything sweet. It's not as bad as before, though.

I did some cleaning up this weekend:

Opened and filled 15 brand new KR808D-1 cartomizers. Quit using all the cartos I've been refilling for the last month.

Sent all my old cartos from the last two months (78 of them--Boge, KR808D-1, and 4081 + 5 ego Mega) to another ECF member (in tomorrow's mail). Guess she wants to use the tubes for some reason (assume she wants the metal cylinders, not sure).

Combined all of my extra juices into one 120mL bottle...about 1/2 various tobacco juices and about 1/2 various fruits, plus a little bit of caramel and RY4 from my main juices. Rinsed all the empty bottles and caps out good, will throw them all into a ziplock bag and toss it in the closet. These are juices I tried in the last two months and probably would only use to drip once in a great while.

Finally organized!

Except I received an order for 11 boxes of 808D-1 cartomizers on Saturday. Four of the first seven cartos I filled tasted burnt. I even filled them again using the condom method...still burnt. I've never bought cartos from this supplier before (it was really dumb to order that many boxes before trying out a box first!), so now I'm having to wait for a response to my emails to him about what to do with 55 brand new blank cartomizers in which probably 57% are defective (based on 4 of 7 having a burnt taste when first vaping them).

What a shame about the order. Hopefully the supplier will replace the defective ones. I tried the boil method with some older cartomizers that I had and it worked great at cleaning them. Didn't appear to harm the atomizers either. The BWB I believe is about a 70/30 blend. The guy there really knows how to make great flavors. They aren't the least expensive, but worth it. I have a tendency to blend all kinds of flavors. He has one called "Malty" that is great to add to anything. Of course, I can't find that bottle now. Drat. His cherry tobacco and maple tobacco are really good. They do need to steep for a while, but worth the wait. I cleaned off the counter with all the bottles of liquid tonight too. I now have a special drawer in the kitchen for everything. I'll bear in mind your experience in ordering the cartomizers and stick with the supplier I ordered from before. No need to take chances. Ha. Thanks again for all your help and support.

I didn't read this entire thread so forgive me if I duplicate anyone's advice. I've had the same problem with soreness from time to time but I think I've narrowed my problem down to just going into vaping frenzies from time to time. Something that has really worked for me is using Biotene toothpaste and mouth rinse. They also have a spray mist that you can carry in your purse. HTH if you find this happening again. Of course be sure and drink plenty of liquids.
