VV Grand or just Grand? That is the question. I have 'another' VV device, but always use the same setting anyway. Wanted to know what Reonauts thought.

Mike, I can't answer yet, because my vv grand wont get here to next week.

I will say that a straight up grand kicks straight up .... Not sure I need the vv, just more of a want thing. Perhaps that'll change once I use it.

I started with minis cause I thought grands were big. They are not much bigger than a mini. Now that I have a grand, I realize that they are the perfect combination of size and capacity for me.

You can't go wrong either way. One fact I know is that I realize that it was a mistake to sell my other grand because now I have developed an acute case of "needanothergrandasabackuptomygranditis". I'll prolly get "needanothervvasabackuptomyvvitis" too.

Get used to it. It's the way it is with REOs

Vv is definitely a nice feature for RBA's and being able to tweak for different juices and try new things. Honestly again JMO but its nice to have at least one Of each some days I have a Vv glued to my hand other days its a mechanical.

Sorry probably not overly helpful:confused:

I see you have newly acquired a mini 2.0 so I would go Vv

Would love to give my opinion but need some more information please.

What setting do you use for VV?

When will you be using this REO? Mainly work? Just at home?

Will it be your first REO?

Will you be using a RBA on this REO?

Nerak: On my ProVari I am usually at a setting of 4.5, that is perfect for most of the juices I have tried to date. All day thing - at work and at home - 2nd REO, I have a mini 2.0 18490 - will start out using cartomizers, but want to go RBA soon.

Justice: What do you mean fry it at work, using it too much? That's a definite danger for me.

No I work outside in the dirt etc Its too likely to get wet or dirty and kill the electronics so its a no go for me at work Most would be appalled to see how beat up my work reos are

You probably chose the right mod then, they are tough. My provari is tough too, but the tanks are not, especially my pyrex ones.

Thank you Mike! It is really tough sometimes for me to give a recommendation without knowing those things.

With an RBA on a Grand you can build your coils at low ohms to get more of a kick. A Grand being all mechanical can be washed in water to clean. You don't have to worry about it getting wet.

You have another REO so if something happens to the one you are getting you have a back-up.

The VV Grand with the electronics calls for you to be a little more careful around liquids. But if you are going somewhere where there is a risk of exposure to moisture you can take your 18490 instead. If your work environment is fairly clean and dry either would be good.

The VV Grand has built in short protection. The Grand does not. An RBA I feel is more in danger of causing a short than a standard atty or cartos. Extra springs for the Grand are a good idea.

A rebuild on a Grand can be done by you if you order the parts. With a VV Grand it would mean a trip to Maine.

I have both. I use my Grands more than my VV Grand. But that is because I have a few and only one VV Grand.

So, with all that being said, I think if you can afford the difference a VV Grand would be your best choice. It would allow you more variables in your RBA coils, and protect against shorts.

I am a newbie and I have the grand but down the road I want to try the VV. Just for now it is way to early for me. I have a lot to learn yet but when I become more familiar with it all I plan on buying a VV.

There's really nothing holding someone new back the VV's are very simple just picture your grand with a wheel. Turn the wheel to the low side slap on your preferred atty carto etc and gradually turn it up until your happy if you go a bit to far you simply turn it back a bit. There's no #s to figure out or flashing error codes to deal with doesn't get much easier.
