Sorry Mackman, I was inaccurate in describing! :) All Reos VV have the LED, your too, and the LED normally is not visible, it is hidden behind the black cover. You can see the LED in operation, looking through the space that you find near the adjusting wheel; you can do this in a dark room because the light is very low.

I think you explained it just fine. I just took my VV Grand into a completely darkened room with the delrin cover still in place. I couldn't see the red at all but the blue was plainly visible around the voltage adjustment pot when I fired it.

First I have to figure out what to use for the "lens" to put in a tiny hole before I drill it. Don't have any fiber optic stuff around right now. I'll find something...

I'm wondering though if all the Notcig boards had the LED? Maybe the early boards didn't have it?

Mack, what VV Grand version do you have? Is it one of the early models with the recessed fire button?

I have VV Woodvils and had a VV Grand. Same chip in both. The VV Woodvils were sold first. My VV Grand was the first batch released.

All have the LED lights. With some the light is more visible.

Battery drain on all of my VV REO's, with different sets of batteries. I always turn them off if not in use especially at night.

I found keeping my batteries in sets and also rotating each battery in the set to top position gives me the best voltage and longest time between charges.

The VV REO's do not have a voltage cutoff that is conducive to long battery life. BuzzKill said
THere is NO cutoff circuit built into the controller , it goes until the batts die

Specs:

15 watts maximum power output
Wheel adjustable voltage dial
Improved battery life 2 x 's avg. , we have a new controller that is MUCH more efficeint. avg. 12 hrs per charge
batteries (16340 type)
3-3 to 5.5 volt adjustment
Reverse battery protection
Over current protection
Over temp. protection

I am always careful to pull out my batteries around 3.5v or above. Yes, this cuts into use time, but my batteries are lasting and charging well. Before I maintained my current routine I had batteries die.

Ok I charged a new set of 18350's put them in the VV Grand, vaped on it for about 30 min then switched it off and let it sit for 3 days. I'm happy to say that after 3 days voltage drop on the batteries was pretty much negligible. I metered the batteries after 3 days and they showed 3.93v and 3.91v
Seems like keeping the VV Grand's switch off when not in use solves the problem to a large extent.
Thanks for all your help
