It doesn't, thats why its called a Hobby :)

Some people are satisfied with getting 1 mod until it becomes useless or breaks, but like me some like to collect the newest and greatest, its no different then a stamp collector, coin collector, or collecting rare wines.

Also, when i see a friend smoking, i give them one of my mods and set them up for free to get them off smoking.

Awfully noble of ya...I've only been vaping for a week and a half, already spent more than I should on this hobby and it feels like an never ending hole...sometimes I wonder if Im just replacing my addiction to analogs to an addiction for mods.

You know, my number one reasons for switching over to vaping was not saving money but to live as long as i can for my children and wife and so that my addiction wasn't going to hurt them like second hand does so well from using analogs.

After 15 years of smoking and waking up with dry/sore throat, coughing up blood every morning, and trying to keep my addiction going even at the cost of avoiding my children for their benefit, just wasn't worth it.

Money shouldn't persuade you into going back to analogs, you don't NEED to be a hobbiest, it doesn't seem like your thing right now and after only doing it for not even 2 weeks, collecting mods and gear shouldn't even be on your mind, get 1 good setup and just use that for a few months until building or tanks and research and your questions are all answered, and if you feel like you want to go crazy once in a while (every 2-3 months like me) get some new stuff!

I started with an eGO Twist vape pen in 2012 and i used that for almost 6 months before buying a HCigar Nemesis Clone all the way until the Sigelei 150 Watt Regulated mod came out and then i was addicted to regulated mods and im still learning to build new wires like 316 SS Claptons etc., its fun to me now and smoking / vaping is no longer a burden on my life or my families and has become a positive vs a negative.

Depending on how much you smoked, it is still cheaper and better for your health and those around you. I don't go crazy buying gear, but I rationalize all my purchases by comparing them to smoking. I used to smoke a pack a day roughly. If I buy gear for $40, that is like 4 days of smoking. If what I buy lasts me 4 days, I at least broke even on what I would have spent killing myself. I buy liquid that is $20 for a 30 ml bottle. Yes I can get cheaper, but I like it and it lasts me almost a week. $20 per week vs $60-70 per week.

I've switched to vaping due to the same health concern reasons as you. It worked for me immediately. Went from a pack to pack and half a day to 2-3 to none today.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all, I actually enjoy this hobby, searching for the next mod/tank/juice is fun for me as long as I keep it within reasonable monetary limitations.

I actually started with the original ecigs (V2 i believe), the ones you had to switch out the tip carto's. Hated them, didn't really work for me, 2 weeks later I was back to analogs.

In 2014 my friend bought me a cylinder type regulated mod, it broke within a month, did cut down on my analogs. Just started recently because another friend was vaping a snow wolf mini at the bar with me the other day. I liked the looks of the mod and after having a few vapes I found that it did control my urge for analogs.

I don't believe that vaping is problem free, I'm sure I'll be healthier if I quite both vaping and analogs altogether. But I do believe that vaping is significantly healthier than cigarettes and so far its the only thing that has helped with the addiction.

Anything we introduce into our bodies is likely to have a negative effect. Lots of foods and drinks are bad for us in the long run and who knows what's in the medicines and other concoctions we ingest or rub on our skin.

I look at vaping as a reduced harm method of satisfying nicotine addiction. Vaping took me off most of the cigarettes the first week. After 5 years of vaping and no smoking I can do things without huffing and puffing and my last chest X-ray was normal ... no anomalies.
