Ok, I just got this thing in and it looks awesome; however, if cleaning and maintaining this thing will remain this difficult, I don't think I will buy another. I finally figured out how to get the ring out, but I see no way of getting it back in, properly aligned with the wicks. Everytime I push it in, that little cup piece holding the wicks tilts one way or the other, so I have no way of knowing what is aligned. I also understand that people pull all the guts out of it, too? How in the world is that possible?

Can anyone help? There are maybe 2 or 3 videos I haven't checked on Youtube yet, but they're for clearomizers with what appears to be 3 rings. Mine only has one, so I'm not sure how much that will help.

I have done it a number of times BUT it is quite difficult. What I do find helps is just a little PG/VG (or just your regular juice that your going to use) on the ring and inner tube at the top will allow for some lubrication.
The first time I did it I had it sitting on my desk and when I was pushing the ring back on the whole center air tube came out the bottom. By having it on a battery should prevent this issue and the issue with the cup moving very much, it still will a bit but not as much.

Oh and a LOT of patience, its a REALLY tight fit!

As for complete removal of the inner guts, what I have done is use a long narrow center punch. Slide it down the side and then while holding onto the metal outside just tap it with a hammer and the whole thing came flying out. While its out it is a lot easier to make sure the cap and wicks are lined up.

Another option if you want to try it:

The fill ring from the Vision goes in the Giantomizer a LOT easier than the original, and from my experience seals just as well. It'll mean buying another carto, but you can use the Vision until it dies and steal the fill ring out of it to use in the Giantomizer. The V1 Vision is on sale right now and I think you'll like the setup if you try it.

p.s. Getting some #6 o-rings from the hardware store is a great add-on for the Giantomizer mouthpiece as well.

The wick outside the cup will clean well enough just by rinsing in water. The wick *inside* the cup is what really gets fouled. A rinse and dry burn will turn the gunk to ash so you can gently scrape it off. Once the wick in the cup is gray/white again you can refill and continue vaping.

How do I clean the wicks (strings)? I've heard a dentak brush, do I just slide it down the sides and brush?

Correct. That part of the wick has coil wire wrapped around it. Scrape gently so as to not move or damage the coil wire. In fact, I'd characterize what I do as more "light brushing" than scraping.

Ohhhh....I see, dry burn first, then scrape. The wick in the cup is the one that runs right along the top of the cup, right under the seal, right?
