Needing some help...

Recently, I've been twisting my 30g kanthal and wraping it on my wick vs. using an untwisted wrap. Ive noticed that when its not feeding liquid, it fires up like a champ but with liquid, it fires like its choking. Ive tried everything from reduced vg to 100% vg and it still sucks! If I overtilt, I get juice into the drip tip or even into my mouth (insert joke here lol) and if I dont tilt enough, I get disgusting dry hits. Not to mention, my cloud production is close to medocre. What am I doing wrong? It seems like whenever I hit someone else's RBA, i get massive clouds and when I go back to mine, l get nothing. Any advice?
Also another problem i get is the "hot leg" on my coils. I cant seem to get rid of it on my AGA T2 and its annoying me because I get that dry hit even though i have a massive cloud. I oxidized my wicks perfectly and even oxidize my wire. Still, I get nothing. I mindlessly spend an hour messing with the coils to get evenglowing but i get horrible results with the "leg" issue. I have about a 3 mm space between the wick and the center post but that doesnt seem to help too much. Im still new to RBAs so please go easy on me lol. Thank you for your guys' time!

make a loop in your wire on the side that you plan to use to wrap around the center post. Loop it up. Then just loop that loop around the center post and twist once then snip to create your other leg. now u just have to twirl around the mesh, and into the bottom leg holder. should be good! alsoo, seems like ur having wicking issues. what does your mesh roll llook like? tightness? hole in the middle? etc let us know.

So youre saying i should only twist where the coil branches off of the center post? Im using a hollow wick and it hugs the hole pretty nicely, yes it has a hole in the middle lol. The wicking issue is pretty weird, if i over tilt the mod, the juice slides into the drip tip and in my mouth and what not but a slight under tilt, i get a horrible burning throat hit. btw, any other hints as to fixing the leg besides wraping it? i have my entire coil twisted and it still has the hot leg going on

Seems like your wick is wicking fine. The hot spot is the problem. You've got to work it out. Adjust and pulse. Keep on pulsing for a good while, even after the coils glow evenly. Drip a little juice on it and pulse some more. Pulsing is your friend.
ill definitely keep that in mind! ive heard that after you make the coil, take it off of the atty with the wick and torch it and it should help the problem... is that true even though i already oxidized the mesh and wire prior to assembly?????
Hot legs are usually indicative of a short somewhere.

Your wicking issue is not weird at all - you're not wicking, but pouring juice up the hole in you wick. Try a rolling solid core wick and you'll be better off.
ive heard that solid wicks do a "silica streaming" effect. but hey ill definitely give it a try. anything to solve this rediculous problem! should i roll the wick skinnier so it doesnt grab on to the opening of the wick hole?

Totally agree with The Yeti - try a solid wick. Even using 100% VG - a good solid wick will be able to deliver the juice you need. IMO - solid wicks help (a little) with the top hot leg onto the positive post. Because the solid wick helps to draw in the heat as opposed to just burning the top of your wick. I only make solid wicks for all my RBA's now and would not go back to a straw type. Capillary action compared to tilting is by far a better way to use RBA's IMHO.
Give it a try!
