Ive had my aga for a few months now. Ive tried just about everything I can think of to make it work and so far, crap. Ive tried stainless mesh 500, cotton yarn, cotton balls, and silica (different weaves, sizes and combinations). Ive tried 28, 30, and 32ga kanthal.

Its coming down to wicking, plain and simple. I cant seem to get the juice needed to get a decent vape up to the coil. Ive used it single hole and double hole, with all of the wicks mentioned (single hole with stainless mesh). I tip, ive loosened the rear screw and ive drilled out my main wick hole to 3mm, still nothing but a decent inhale taste and a burned exhale taste.

I have coil wrapping experience with my protanks, which both work like clockwork, every time.

My juice is a 40/6o pg/vg.

Is there anything that I may be neglecting to try or is my aga ready for the trash can?

I had lots of trouble with my t's I found that using cotton yarn not sure of size (bought at Wal-Mart) worked the best with a coil wound on a drill bit the same size as the hole for the wick, 32g with more coils (6-7) tends to not get as hot. Put lots of juice on coil to prime and start out with very low ( I have vv vw mod ) 6 watt use for a while and slowly increase this causes ash, gunk? to fill in places between coil and wick. With cotton it vapes great but if you burn it even a little you need to change the wick and most the time dump the juice

I would try ss rope. I use it in my kraken and I love it. Great flavor, vapor and wicks amazingly!
I used to have an aga-t2.. Took me a while to actually get a build in it that worked. I actually had to use the feed hole screw as the neg post because the actual neg post was too far away, so if the + is anything like the t2, you might want to try that.
Don't get discouraged, genesis rbas are definitely one of the harder rebuildable to get right, which is why so many people talk smack about them lol. But once you get a good, working build, you won't wanna use anything else haha

Do you make solid mesh or straws?

How loose is your wick in the hole?
That's where my problem has been. With ekowool I haven't been able to get it loose enough and it chokes.
When I've had problem mesh it's been because it's been because it's too tight and chokes.

I use straws and have no problem with feeding (as long as it's not too tight), no need to tip except at the bottom of a tank full.

Along with everything else that you can find with tutorials on SS mesh wick-and-wire setups--make sure that you do not have any gaps between your wick and coil.

My coils can look absolutely spot-on when i dry fire. But during the initial pulsing out of the coil, in order to even out the wraps and work out hot spots, the wire tends to expand. I leave my negative lead long. If i develop a gap, I undo the neg lead, then use a flat head jeweler's screwdriver to snug up my coil and get rid of the gaps between wick and coil.

Make sure your wick is loose in the wick hole--Myk stated this in the previous post. Coil should light up from the inside out, like all coils should. SS mesh is worth the learning curve, IMO, but it can be frustrating. Good Luck!! You can do it!!

I just did my first SS mesh wick and fortunately it worked. I only had one lil' sample of mesh to work with and I had two coils already in place using cotton wicks. I cut the mesh in half and made wicks out of it using a youtube vid to show me how to make a ss mesh wick, except I did it smaller and in two's. It's probably beginners luck. I'm just glad it worked. It does do alot better than cotton!
