So many options in apv's. I like the size of the eVic. Does any one have any grips besides the fragile display? I don't get why its rated one volt lower then others on the market? I know I don't want something big as a light saber. So many options from the evic, sid etc . I am just having a hard time deciding.

I'm not a fan of the Evic. The more you know, the more you realize the Evic is weak compared to other mods at a fraction of the Evic's price.

Hear great things about the itaste svd . But I'm talking cheaper apv devices. I just use a vamo v3 and it's fine, but should have grabbed the itaste svd. I may do this soon. fasttech has them under $40 with free worldwide shipping and great warranty.

A buddy of mine grabbed a mini provari and still likes his itaste svd better lol.... just one opinion though.

The SVD is a good choice, but it is a bit heavy...just a bit. I have two of them and a Provari. If you dont like the cost factor of the Provari, the SVD is a good reliable Mod, user friendly, built tuff.

I prefer my Provari, but we are all different. My SVD's get used everyday by other family members.

The head thing is a non-issue........as long as you do not buy OLD stock.
Joyetech updated the eVic several months ago and beefed up the head design.

Power is as subjective as Taste with e-liquids.
While you will find some people that like Vaping at unreal high power, the norm is around 3.7-4.5v or averaging 5.2-8 watts.
If you intend going Sub ohm, well even the Provari should be left on the end table for other uses.

The decision is not hard to make. If you use a lot of wick/coil tanks/clearos, eVic is a perfect fit. Even Drippers like the IGO-L work great with a 1.6-1.8 ohm coil on eVic.

My real question is - This was posted in the eVic sub-forum, so why the Non-eVic user intrusions?

One last item - Both my eVics are now 9 months old, original release, and working/looking great. Yes I do pocket carry my 18350 setup with a F-16 Carto tank attached. Had it at a company Family outing all day today.

Thanks for the response crx, I plan on using my protank2 on what ever I get. I just don't understand why they didn't add that one volt like all the other mods? Coat wise I find the kit for 65.99 after a coupon. A lot of these other mods don't have batteries or charger. I like how the eVic can use my android charger cause I have tons of those.

If a protank is the plan, you won't be disappointed.

It's my understanding, though it could be wrong, that they did have a 6v limit at one time but it was too much for the hardware. If you're going to stay between 1.8 and 3.3 ohms (vast majority of what I see for sale), don't worry about the limitations. I'm sure the pros here will step in if I'm wrong, but as far as I can see, the only need to go above the limits of the evic is modded dual coils.

From what I've read, I think the evic maxes out at like 2.2 ohms full power due to the amp switch. I don't really understand, but that's enough juice to really fry through some liquids.

Good info, I'm am really new at this so I am learning about the ohms. So I couldnt use the 1.8 heads? I think they come 1.8,2.2 and 2.5. So much info lately I can be wrong.
What I really like is you can get the shorter tubes and make the evic even shorter and more compact. Even with the stock tubes its not that much taller than my twist with the tank.

My choices was evic, sid and I was also looking at some of the itaste and Sigelei mods.

I have two eVics, an MVP, an itaste VV/VW v3, and I HAD a Vamo (sold it.) I love my eVics best. I LOVE the display. It tells me everything I want to know on the screen. I love that it tells me exactly how much is left on my battery (in percentages, not green-yellow-red lights). I love how it tells me what ohm my coils are reading (esp. when I have a short or it isn't reading at all.) On the Innokins, I can get this info, but it takes multiple clicks. With the eVic, it's right there ('cause I programmed it as such.) I love that I can hook it up to the software to configure it (I hate trying to click through menus!)

FWIW, I use Evods, Protanks, Davides, Iclear 16s, and various drippers on them.

Yes you can use the 1.8 ohm atty heads with no problem, I use them all the time on my EVOD or T3. In fact you could use all the ones you listed 1.8, 2.2, and 2.5 will all work with no problem. What makes it nice is that you could put your eVic in variable wattage (VW) mode and just set your wattage for what you like, then the eVic would adjust the voltage depending on what ohm atty you're using.

I've had mine for a couple of months now and I'm creeping up on 10,000 puffs on it already. Which that's surprising since I don't take it to work, too afraid I'll really screw it up.

Couldn't have said it better MsComptrtchr! The many reasons I love my eVic. You left one out though, it's upgradable! Have you installed 1.4 yet?

Yep - I thought I liked the inverse screen, but it seemed to drain the battery faster, so for now I'm back to the regular screen.

As soon as it is available. Version 1.3 is it for now or is there something I'm missing? Just looked on Joyetech

ETA - never mind, found the link - wonder why joyetech is making things difficult?

I just wanted to say thanks all for the great feedback. I just ordered my eVic. Now I just need to get ablack tube and head and short tube for compact mode.

Hindsight is always 20/20, I should've just bought the eVic control head, I mainly use the shorty tube. I'm also using the eCa cap. I think if you just bought eVic control head, you can customize it to the color you want (unless you like the default brushed silver look)...
