I see everywhere people asking " how long does x amount ml last you" The typical response varies, but most say " I can vape this long" Now when you say you can vape all day on x amount, what does that mean... Do you constanly have your ecig hanging from your mouth. Im under the impression that most people do not smoke these like a regular cig ? Am I wrong.... Say I do smoke mine (Volt) like I would a regular cig (about 10 drags for me) then put it up... How long would I see out of say a 3 ml bottle? Sorry if this is a completely idiotic question

It's not an idiotic question, but it is like comparing apples to oranges. Most people started vaping with the intention of only using it like they would a regular cigarette (I know I did). What actually happens is that most people enjoy vaping more than they did cigarette and thus vape a lot more. If the volt carto holds 1ml of juice that would be roughly 6 to 8 cigarette (mind you these are approximations). Therefore 3ml would be about a pack to a little over a pack of smokes. It's all subject to how long your drags or puffs are and how long you hold the vapor in your lungs.

It's not an idiotic question---just hard to answer.
It's like asking me if a sixteen ounce of water will last you as long as it last me.

Yeah... I guess the main reasoning for the post was to see what the normal vaping habits are for you guys. I was just curious to see if people used it like a normal cig or puffed alot more frequent with it...

Based on others experience, I feel my consumption is low .. however, I am using the e-cig at least as much as I toked on an analog .. strange ..

So many factors come into play.

What are you vaping it with? An atty that runs really cool and doesn't have alot of surface to liquid area with the coils will go through it slower than a really hot atty with several winds and really thick wire in the coils. Dualies cranked up to prime performance will drink it by the ml instead of by the drop. Direct dripping vs using a cart, tank, or carto also has a significant impact on how much liquid one goes through and how quickly.

The PG/VG ratio also can effect it some. For me, it seems higher VG liquids go a little faster.

Nic level can make a big difference as well for alot of people. Someone using a 24mg nic liquid might not feel inclined to hit it as often as someone using 4mg. Of course this varies widely from person to person....it's not all about nic to everyone.

For me...the most I've ever used in one day was 4ml @ 4mg nic. I was sucking on a CE2 type carto all day and never put it down. Had I used higher nic levels, it probably would have made me ill! I doubt I would have hit it nearly as often with higher nic levels.

So it's just plain hard to say. For me it's 2 to 4 ml a day. If I'm in a situation where I can enjoy the PV at any time I wish, I use lower nic, and vape like a research monkey (from 3ml to 5ml [with dualies I could easily go up to 5ml] depending on atty/carto type). If I'm working alot, and can only vape during breaks and such...I way UP the nicotine and hit it more like real cigs. On days like that...2ml is usually more than enough for me.

In short...get more than you think you'll need once you find some flavors you like. Take advantage of bulk prices on your 'go-to' liquids. Keep a variety of nic levels to suit your moods and needs. It won't take long to find ways to do it all for just a few cents a day if budgeting is a concern.

There's not hard and fast rule and it varies depending on habit, nic level, if you're a "puffer".... Just plan on the standard answer of 3 ml per day. You're over thinking it. Use that number as a best guess until you find your level by experience. Now you know how much juice to order for how long.

Next question is strength. That's the next post. ;)

The CS at SI was correct in recommending that nic level. If you find that you're having cravings, you can always get some 24mg and switch between the two nic levels if you need to. The wonderful thing about vaping is that there aren't any hard, fast rules to follow. You get to do whatever works for you. No two people vape exactly alike, even if they're using the same device.

At first I puffed on it constantly. Now I can actually leave the house and not have a frantic attack because I left my PV at home.
Still do a fair job of puffing when I'm at the computer.

I vape more than I would smoking normally. Vaping delivers less immediately bioavailable absorbed nicotine into the system. If I am free to vape then it's every 10 to 15 minutes I'm taking a few pulls. If i'm on a schedule then I vape my same 5 mins as I would a cigg except it's pretty much non stop vaping for 5 mins. Hope that helps.
